My Ramsey QM9000 has done pretty good so far.

not downing the name brand stuff, but i have had the same 375 dollar harbor freight winch for 7 years now w/ no probs., it started its life on my tow truck to raise the wheel lift(been put through alot if stress), and has been on 4 trail rigs. just a little fyi too harbor freight winches are made by mile marker.
That was told to me straight out of a chicago electric reps mouth.:beer:

Great cheap winch, WARN!!
seriously, used military winches from a HMMWV. warn claims them to be the mil6000 model, but when you start to buy parts for it, it is basically a narrower m15000, that is ran off 24V and only rated 6000 for 100% duty cycle, IE i don't need some dumb ass soldier trying to pull 15000 lbs all day long and break the damn thing. So it's de-rated.

I've gotten a few of these, super cheap to free, buy a 12V motor($75-100), and 2 12v solenoids($25 ea.) from a local electrical repair place in LExington. the only real problem with using it is that it has a 9" mounting width. I once used the one on my ZJ to pull the F350, trailer, and plymouth up the side hill in the yard when it had rained fordays, and the 2wd truck just had no traction, thats about 13k lbs. winch worked flawless.

It takes a little more work than just ordering one in a catalog, but it's a kickass piece of hardware.
