Cherokee Stroker Overheating

Okay, false alarm on the A/C and Temp switch not turning the AUX fan on. checked my relay and had a bad ground on one of the wires there. Still does not explain my overheating while not using the A/C. I don't see why my temperature should creep up on me w/o using the A/C on a 70* day...

I suppose I'm going to start by swapping out the T-Stat...?

EDIT: Also, could the crack shown below be causing me to overheat like I am?

And, took the thermostat out, it was a 180* o_O not sure when I put that on there but I put a 195* back in so let's see how this does!

On my '98, if idling for long periods, it will get up to 220 or around there without the a/c on. The elec fan will then take it down to about 210 or a little less. I have the 195 t-stat in mine, it will stay there without budging while driving. So yours seems right on track with mine. Those temps have never worried me.

Thermostat seemed to have done the trick! Temp needle hardly moves now. Stays between 201 and 203 when driving around and right after stopping drops to about 198 and will then creep back up to only 205 so far... All of this seems VERY normal now :)

Sooooo, anyone interested in purchasing this beast now that I've finally got it running properly??? Seriously selling it actually. PM me if interested. Need a more practical DD. Should have a classified up soon in the correct section.

Thanks!
