Chinese chainsaw, how will it perform?

I have a 460 I got from @jeepinmatt that is in the shop again. I use it to mill with and I think it's just a tad too small for the 36" bar I recently put on it. I've been thinking about getting a 660 or 500I but I stumbled across these and have been contemplating one because of price.

36” bar is certainly 90cc saw territory IMO

OK, here is the update. The 892 is a bad ass saw! I know I have only used it a few days, but so far zero complaints. It is made to saw, not trim with...lol it is heavy. You cant be a sissy and starting this thing, that is for sure. It has started with a couple pulls, hot or cold each time. The chain is holding up extremely well too. Like others have said, time will tell. But with the parts readily available to repair anything that is wrong with it, you cannot beat the price. I may pull the trigger on the 36" bar to not have to make 2 cuts on this big shit and just so I can say, yea, it is a 36" :D I will add some pics here in a few minutes.
Here is the saw

Bought a cheap ($35) beam cutter attachment from Northern tools today to cut some boards for a chicken coop.

Yep, now I have decided I am going to also buy an Alaskan sawmill, and probably one of these Chinese 066's to go with it.

I have been looking on FB marketplace for a Stihl 066/MS660/MS661 but for the cost people want for what may be an old worn out saw, I am probably just going to go Chinese....

Thought I took a video with my temu saw…. Things freaking ripped through a big oak. Will try again later. Kinda excited about the saw that’s cheap enough to get stolen

Touch less than $550 shipped.
Saw, 35" bar, 1 ripping chain, 3 regular chains, and an Alaskan mill. Fingers crossed!
With a 36” bar you only get about 30” of cut. You can put the saw end fairly close but the chain end needs to be inside the end sprocket. Which is why I want a 660 and a bigger bar.

Went and picked up my saw. The port was clogged. FML. Was only $58 for him to get it oiling again. He also adjusted the carb.

Learned something too. It has an adjustable oiler…. I never knew that.

Well as my luck would have it, after I bought the China saw, a 661c (m-tronic) popped up on FB marketplace about 15 minutes away. It's got some miles on it, but I am going to clean it up, already ordered a 28" bar for it. My plan is to put the Alaskan mill on the 36" bar Chinese saw, and use the Stihl to make the first cut on logs with a beam cutter attachment. I can attest to the fact these are not saws you want to use to cut up a tree, I dropped a beech tree today and cut it up, that 661 will wear you out 🤣. Doesn't help that the chain needs to be sharpened.

Honestly, I may end up selling the 661, only time will tell.

If you sell the 661 I’d be interested if I can find the money.

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the 661. Mine is professionally ported, and runs amazing for like 5-10 minutes and then cuts off. Its not siezing, its not getting too hot, I think it has something to do with the M-tronic and the fuel mix learning. If you let it sit for a half hour, it'll crank right up and run again. Truth is, 5-10 minutes with that saw is more than enough, and the 046 with the 25" bar is the workhorse. The 661 is just for dropping the big trunk and cutting it to sawmill length.

M-tronic is still carb? Maybe it needs some tuning?

M-tronic is basically an autocarb that is supposed to electronically adjust based on a bunch of factors.

Ugh like on my 80s CJ? That thing sucked.
Well, it's supposed to be better because its from the past decade, not the 80's, and its German. But I've worked for German companies and driven German cars, so I think that's part of the problem.

New tool alert. Anyone seen these ratcheting screnchs?

Pass. I get mad enough when I lose the cheap ones that I've freely gathered over the years. I can't imagine how pissed I'd be if I lost dozens of $25 ones!

My first thought as well lol. I keep them things everywhere. Every vehicle, tractor, and toolbox has at least one.

Saw is still getting it done. 2 gallons of gas through it, still on original chain. Making a lot of progress. Have all the piles of limbs burnt now and most of it sawed. Have to work on getting them moved and split. I have justified a new tractor, with a grapple attachment that will be in my near future. It will take me over a year once I start working on the wooded part of my property, so why not get something to make the job easier. Downside is that a couple of jeeps or AMX with have to be moved on down the road. It is time for me to start downsizing anyway as age is creeping in faster every day.
Good day to burn yesterday

Skip the tractor and go right for a skid steer!

I'll probably never have another tractor, but I will definitely have another excavator and a skid steer.

A tractor would definitely be better than nothing though.

I'm in the same situation as you, treated myself to a new LS tractor with grapple. It makes thing's so much easier!

Chinese saw is doing good on the sawmill. They are sending a new gas cap, the original seal swelled and I have to push the seal in with a screwdriver at every gas change. Supposedly the replacement has a better seal.

Welp, getting a little sigh of relief (if it holds true). Have a local logger that is going to clean up ALL the down trees on my wooded property and well and my two neighbors. This should be a good payday for him for sure as there are a lot of quality trees down between the 3 properties. Also, he is going to remove all the trees from the front yard that are left standing as well and remove the two that is leaning over the east side of the house and a big oak that is leaning over the RV shed. This will be a huge step forward!
