Just wanted to stop in and say I think this build is awesome!

I would love to build something like this one day with a 6bt as a tow rig/DD.

Thanks!

I will put a reciever on it and tow the 20 footer at least once. I need to at least get a picture of a Jeep pulling a Jeep!

I hope it gets 25+ MPG, I have a turbo for it from a -80 Scout.

I dont know about long distance towing, though... I like the creature comforts of the Excursion too much!

I like this thing alot! One suggestion...What about section the bed and narrow it to closer to the width of the cab? I think a couple inches on both sides would draw it in and make it look more factory. That being said, it would add some work and lose a little bed space. Might be more work than its worth, but I think it would add to the fit and finish. Either way, nice job so far...keep up the good work.

x2 definitely would look better

Bed is same width as the running boards and the front fender flares, and it covers the 37s on the 14b just about perfect. It is staying the width it is. This is going to be a daily driver much more than a trail rig. If i was building more of a trail rig, I would think more about narrowing the bed. The bed is bobbed right to the end of the spring hangers, so not much more could be lobbed off.

I did sell the D44/14b/SD33/TF727 for a much more appropriate D60/14b/4BT/NV4500, though...

bacon, because you already had a bed by the time i saw this.

x3 or w/e on narrowing the bed. the bed needs to be the same width as the cab just like a normal pick up but make some metal flares to cover the wheels. Perhaps just add some metal to the "arch" thats around the wheel, like 3" or so. Or just narrow it and drop the front plastic flare.

That thing is so ugly its awesome! If you are going to be ugly... be really frickin' ugly! I think the whole concept is killer, should be a beast if you put a 60 up front.

Look up a couple posts. It has a D60/14b/4bt/nv4500/D300 now:flipoff2:

Things are going slowly in the heat, but getting done.

I spread some paint in it

Waiting on the injection pump for the motor and a couple of other things but it is getting there.

One of the rigs that helped me recover from my flop was a cj-10. It was blue/turquoise? with a black top and it was an awesome rig. The guy had fabbed up the bed himself, and it was a short bed. I was hoping to get pictures from him in an email but haven't. Awesome build. I may be biased to jeep trucks though.

Looks good Gaven, kinda wish it was still sitting in my driveway

It has been a whole lot of work, but I think it is (finally!) working out well. I thought I needed a project and could get it going quick - but I am now just about 2 years into it!!

I did have it running/driving before I came down to Houston, but I had the time and thought I would fix all the "little" things, and that turned into a year project.

Figures.

Done! Essentially. Nothing is ever really done... but I know there were a couple people on here who liked this truck, including the guy I got it from!!

That is absolutly Awesome ! (& Inspiring - I just got two CJ10a, one with only 983 miles!

Get on it! It really was a fun easy build. Take a good look at the frame behind the cab - mine was very cracked.

Forget gay marriage, I wanna marry that.

Forget gay marriage, I wanna marry that.

You mean you do not want to marry bacon like in the commercials?

I like it a ton. It sounded like a dump truck at the beginging of the video. it is hard to tell in my computer setting but is the entire truck and wheels OD? What kind of mpg are you getting? Very nice hopefully someday I might get a chance to see it inperson.

Entire truck is OD. Shocks are still shiny, but I will probably paint them soon. The roof is white to help with heat a little.

Better pic for color?
