Been a few months... so I reckon it's time for an update of sorts.
Trample the Weak is doing really well. Probably the best selling book I've written yet. Of course, it helps that I self-published and get to keep ALL the royalties instead of splitting them with my Publisher. (MWhahahahha) In all seriousness, I'm proud of it. I invested my own monies and it worked out in my favor. I sure as poop ain't going to be able to retire any earlier... but I can afford more ammunition and the occasional new gun or Jeep part now.
Leap The Dead, I just hit 50% today. I'm behind. Was REALLY wanting to get it out by Christmas, but I don't think that's gonna happen. I got seriously bogged down with some sucky life stuff for a couple of months and pretty much just didn't feel like writing. -shrug- But I'm back in the saddle and pressing on.
Eat the Survivors... I guess if sales continue to be great, I could do this. It's set up for a two book series, but I've got an idea on how to continue that won't screw up the landing of the second book. It's actually fairly clever...
Molest the Maimed... Just kidding.
So, next project?
I don't know. I'd really like to write Settling Prehistoric, but to be completely honest - that series has flat lined in the way of sales.
I guess that's just the ebb and flow of things. The staying power was glorious while it lasted, it stayed in the top 20 of 'Western Science Fiction' category of Amazon for years. And since I don't have control of a lot of factors because the copyright remains with my Publisher for a while longer... It's not really in my best interest to invest a lot of personal money in marketing, only to get a small portion of the increased revenue. I may let the contract expire so I can take complete ownership and re-publish my way. (Writing is a business. Don't let anyone tell you different.)
