C'mon you apes, do you wanna READ forever?!

Been a few months... so I reckon it's time for an update of sorts.

Trample the Weak is doing really well. Probably the best selling book I've written yet. Of course, it helps that I self-published and get to keep ALL the royalties instead of splitting them with my Publisher. (MWhahahahha) In all seriousness, I'm proud of it. I invested my own monies and it worked out in my favor. I sure as poop ain't going to be able to retire any earlier... but I can afford more ammunition and the occasional new gun or Jeep part now. 😉

Leap The Dead, I just hit 50% today. I'm behind. Was REALLY wanting to get it out by Christmas, but I don't think that's gonna happen. I got seriously bogged down with some sucky life stuff for a couple of months and pretty much just didn't feel like writing. -shrug- But I'm back in the saddle and pressing on.

Eat the Survivors... I guess if sales continue to be great, I could do this. It's set up for a two book series, but I've got an idea on how to continue that won't screw up the landing of the second book. It's actually fairly clever...

Molest the Maimed... Just kidding.

So, next project?

I don't know. I'd really like to write Settling Prehistoric, but to be completely honest - that series has flat lined in the way of sales. :( I guess that's just the ebb and flow of things. The staying power was glorious while it lasted, it stayed in the top 20 of 'Western Science Fiction' category of Amazon for years. And since I don't have control of a lot of factors because the copyright remains with my Publisher for a while longer... It's not really in my best interest to invest a lot of personal money in marketing, only to get a small portion of the increased revenue. I may let the contract expire so I can take complete ownership and re-publish my way. (Writing is a business. Don't let anyone tell you different.)

I guess we'll see. Right now, I'm just not sure.

I need you to finish up leap the dead already! And I'll cast my vote for settling prehistoric to be your next project, im invested at this point lol.

So close to 400. If you haven't thrown some stars at West of Prehistoric yet, please do.
🙂

(An elf told me the more stars you use, the less coal you'll get for Christmas.)

Leap The Dead is really, really close to being finished. Like, maybe two more weeks? Three at most.

Trample The Weak is still doing pretty well. But reviews are averaging around 4.4/5 stars. Which sucks. I'm a 4.6 or 4.7/5 guy! So I gotta tighten up on this one.

Below is the opening quote that sets the stage.

I've got a few ideas for what's next. But nothing set in stone yet. Been too focused on getting this one finished to really think about it.

First the offer:

The above's audible form has been released. I've ten FREE codes I can give out to anyone interested. I just ask that you listen/review if you take 'em. Let me know. If you've never listened to an audio book before, this is a good chance to try it out at no cost. Personally, I never thought I'd be into them, but on long drives - they are awesome.

And the update:

Leap the Dead is finished. Cover Art should be done by next week, as well as final edit. (Think I'm on Chapter 14 of 54 Chapters. And plan to do a few more tonight before bed.) Then I have to compile everything for the book. All that fun and tedious stuff to try and not screw up. I'd say book will be out by end of Feb. Which meets one of my silly deadlines of being out before winter's end. (Barely)

Then?

I dunno.

I got a moment of inspiration and wrote the opening chapter for Settling Prehistoric during the Ice Storm of 2026. And it was so enjoyable to go back to those characters. But I think I'll let some ideas percolate next month and see where they get me.
