5.13 gears in a dana 35?

i m from sandy ridge and my wife is from westfield. we are still looking for a house to buy. I m going to be going to work for the king pd after rookie school hopefully.

i know a guy who has a 89yj and he has stock dana 35 and he is running 38's.
let me tell he beats the hell out of that thing and the only thing he brakes running those tires is the straps. so it goes to say a dana 35 is not all that bad. no reason to replace something that aint broke or doesnt get the job done.

my super dana 35 is as strong and is stronger than a dana 44

does that include the weak ass stock carrier, ttiny pinion and Ring & thin ass tubes?

Don't care what you do to a Dana35..... It's all a waste of money.

have you broke a carrier? pinion ring and tube were all replaced upgraded with the warn full floater kit.

I didn't realize that a full floater kit gave you BEEFY R&P...... btw the only way to make that thing off-roadable is to truss it... did you truss it?

Then again you could remove the R&P and use it for a Trailer Axle.....

riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Best of luck convincing people of that around here. Maybe you should change your name from RedneckTj to turdpolisher. Go ahead and slap 38's on there, dare ya.

to quote my own self... "if you arent breaking stuff you aren't wheeling hard enough."

however i have amended that as of lately... "if you start breaking stuff, buy a toyota... if that doesnt solve the problem, you're screwed cause it's gonna cost ya to fix that one" :flipoff2:

wheeling is not about going out and hitting shit as hard as you can. its about being able to creep and crawl over an obsticle with out tearing shit up.

why dont yall teach yourself a little something and read up on this

i dont understand why every one on here is so hostile i have lived in NC my whole life except the last 4 yrs i have been in the military and never has i came across so many assholes. i d rather go back to iraq then go out wheeling with some of you.

heres the deal i ve not had this jeep very long i m still learning every about jeeps i have built a 2000 f250 and a nissan pathfinder and they are not even close to being the same as a jeep. when i bought this jeep i was told that it had 513 gears so i took his word for it. i m going to lift the jeep tonight and figure it out for sure. but the guys that had this jeep before me where running 37's and it was used as a rock crawler. so lay off with all the hostility!!

ok... sounds to me like you were mis informed on some info. 4.88is the lowest gears for the D35.

And I'll give you this, a full floated D35 is better than a stock D35.... but it still has a weak housing. If you don't bust an axle shaft, you'll flex/bend the housing causing the spider gears to pop.

As for have I busted a R&P, nope. But when 9 out 10 broken axles I come across are D35's that sure tells me something.

It's no secret the D35 is weak. and there's no point in even TRYING to compare it to D44. Certainly not if there was even a 5.13 pinion for it. that Gear on the pinion would be so small and only have like 7 teeth on it.

besides that, if you don't know what exaclty you have and you're gonna spout off specs, then you best grow a thick skin. cause you're gonna get called out.

sorry to hear the guy took you on the info.

A little touchy aren't we:flipoff2: No one is bashing you or your rig personally, you do however make some seemingly boastful/heated comments. Anyhow, we aren't all as bad as you portray us;) . Welcome to the board and I hope to see ya on the trail:beer:

yea that guy lied to you.....plus they make a super35 kit and a full-floater 35 kit they dont make those kits together (full-floating super35 kit)...........sounds like that guy was a cheat........
