Ever get any emails from people who just want to tell you that you are an idiot for thinking someone would buy/trade for something you have listed?

I listed my 93 GMC beater/cruiser for trade and had a list of stuff I would be interested in. It's no diamond, but its a decent little truck. Guy emails to tell me that no one would ever trade a diesel truck for my pile of :poop:. Obviously, I'm not looking to trade up for a 2006 megacab cummins, but a similarly valued truck. I'm assuming he must be one of the guys who has a 695,487 mile rusted to pieces coal roller that he thinks is worth about $12k.

Google tells me he has a sketchy looking body/paint shop up in North Charleston. Maybe I will mail him a pile of my :poop: if I can't shake the annoyance.

Gotta love craiglist people. We were selling a Chuck Norris approved Total Gym 1000 a few years ago. Listed for like $80. Guy offered "$30 cash today". Of course the wife replied with a no, and then that guy replied that she was fat and just upset because it didn"t work. Kinda ironic because my wife is 5'7" and 120lbs, without a shred of fat on her.

Generally just tell them 'good, didn't want to sell to them anyway'...which then usually results in at least a couple hours worth of entertainment.

I reply like this:
"Thank you, I'm glad to know that you value your time so highly as to take some of it to let me know your opinion."

One positive thing is that this guy made me be less annoyed by the other folks who don't even read the first lines of the ad stating what I am looking to trade for.

No I don't want your Mazda MPV minivan.

No offense @sgtbriangreen :D

No, no it's not. That's like saying Wal Mart is a necessary evil. Negatory on that one as well.

Just say no to Craigslist.
Then how am I to get rid of stuff I don't want, that you guys don't want! lol I would much prefer to Ebay, but I can't do that for everything.

I've had to deal w that too,one time I actually sent the dude a pic of the guy driving away w the axle in the back of his truck.Dude replied back and said I was a smart ass MF'er. I told him I might be a smartass MF'er but with $1200 in my pocket I wasn't a broke ass MF'er.

Best thing I ever got off of Craigslist was crabs.

Blue crabs.

Another fun past time, when one of them really pisses you off, a 'free firewood' ad or a listing in the m4m section using whatever method of contact they used always adds a certain level of satisfaction. Even better when you stumble across a 'whoever made a fake ad using my info' post.

Well, no one would trade a diesel for a 93 GMC beater :flipoff2:

Beat me to it

Surprised it took someone so long to finally say it :p

It's not a pile. Just a solid old truck with a little stance. I'd call it a $3000-$3500 truck to the right person. Seen plenty of cummins trucks in that range so I don't think I'm too crazy. Then again I could be. o_O

Yeah I looked up the ad. A little rim and tire and some paint and it would be decent looking truck for someone that liked that body style.

shit, I would tint the glass, kick that stankin ass dog out of the driver's seat and pimp that unit!

Trust me...I love driving it. It's gonna have to be a sweet deal for me to let it go.

If I keep it I wanna find a good dash and get a legit tint job. It would look better without the El cheapo purple wal mart junk.

Cant kick out my cruising buddy

I got my Jeep off Craigslist, so it's not all bad. :p

What's funny to me about folks on Craigslist is the ones who will advertise something like a cheap TV....but in another city.

Like you're in Charlotte but advertise your $100 32" TV in Raleigh. Who the hell is going to drive to Charlotte for that? By the time you figure your gas (not even including your time) you could take the gas money, put it with the hundred bucks and buy a better TV brand new.

A lot of people don't think that way, they just see that its something they want at a price they're willin to pay.Its no wonder peoples personal finances are so bad.

I don't see what the big deal is.
As a lister - it costs me $0 and about 30 more seconds to do a 2nd or 3rd listing in neighboring areas.
Around here, people travel a lot for daily commutes through 2 or even 3 CL zones. So there's always a chance you'll get a guy who is passing through the area.
Whether the trip is worth it to a buyer is their choice. I'm honest about the item and location... the rest is up to you...

As a buyer, I have no problem seeing stuff listed that's far away. If it's not near me I just ignore it. Turns out I'm at the northern edge of our area, "Baltimore", and some people in the "York PA" area are closer. Hell I've gotten good deals from them b/c they cross listed in our section - probably b/c they know that's wheret he mass concentration of people are.

Yeah what he said.I have sold stuff the last two days from people who left the coast because of Matthew. One was from Beaufort and the other was from Charleston and I have another from GA that's suppose to be here tomorrow. All of them saw my stuff on CL for sale.I ALWAYS check CL for stuff in the areas I'm gonna be traveling thru.
