Crappy Home Inspections (Pic Heavy)

It's all being done by Dry-Pro / Advanta Clean here in Charlotte. They gave me the best price for what i wanted and came highly recommended. I had several companies come in and give me quotes that ranged from 4k to well over 10k. I didnt go the cheapest but I didnt go 10k either. I'll get some pics as they progress over the next few days. While we dont have alot of pest, we have a TON of these....

I've found out they aren't poisonous but they string webs in the hallway and then you walk into them in the middle of the night...... AAAARRGH!!!

Cool. I currently work for AdvantaClean and trained the owner of drypro years ago. You're getting a good deal by them.

They started this morning.....

If by chance the salesman was a chubby cat with glasses named Rich Pace, give him a good swift kick to the cunt next time you see him and tell him Junior told you to.

Smell moldy?

The smell is normal. If it gets to bad, ask them to set negative air. They'll use a large Axial air mover set up outside pulling air through the floors and out the crawlspace. We have also used HEPA filtered air scrubbers inside before. Your health is top priority so by all means request what you feel is necessary. There's no equipment shortage, believe me.

it was mostly gone this morning, we left the windows open last night and had fans blowing into the house. It was a damp stale smell. I guess you could say moldy but not your usual moldy smell.

Disturbance of the crawlspace ecosystem. Decayed plant and animal life.

yeah they warned me there might be some smells and I expected some but damn LOL its fading. No where near as bad as it was last night

Encapsulation is the only way to go.
It really is. So many years of installing it and several follow up trips to old jobs I've seen the long lasting benefits. Energy savings of 10-30% annually, fewer pest problems, no more cold floors, less duct sweating, not to mention the mold reduction.

yeah I always said if I had a crawlspace house that Id have the crawlspace encapsulated.... but again its something that came a lil quicker than expected.

Well they finished today, and man I couldn't be happier. The smell has pretty much disappeared, and my humidistat already shows about a 7% drop in the house. I crawled under the house to check things out and was able to do so in shorts and bare feet. Shoulda took my camera and grabbed some pics but didnt think about it till I was to far under. I'll grab some next time I'm under there..... If any body is thinking about having this done.... DO IT!

While this is a true statement proper upkeep and maintenance can and will prolong the life of your dead wood lol. Evidently the previous owner was ignorant to this fact or just plain ignorant. Like I said, I kinda put myself to blame also by not being more involved in the inspection. Too late now, I'm just glad I have a background in construction. I'd hate to see what this would cost to have a contractor do it
Yeah, concrete construction. Whatcha gonna do? Fill the crawl space and walls in concrete? Just kidding Robbie. It really does suck to be you right now.

not any more.... lol gettin this shit fixed... and i can do alot more than be a steering wheel holder :flipoff2:
