Damn the Bank

Wrong. Once you've banked at the NCSECU, you'll never bank elsewhere.
The rest of your post seems spot on though.

agreed

We oh so dearly miss NCSECU. Never found another bank or CU so cool.

I generally don't like lawyers. I think the thing to do is to make an appointment and sit down with the manager. Tell him your side without getting angry. Inform him the bank it liable even if the insurance co won't pay. Make no threats. Don't point fingers or say anything that directly implicates the manager as a person. Always say "the bank" and not "you".

Don't take them for a ride (which it sounds like you don't want to anyway) and just go in with what it would cost to repair. Have a conversation not and argument with him. You may be surprised.

Call a Lawyer!

:(

Thanks for the Input guys. I will be writing a letter soon and we will see how it goes. But like i had said before. I know that a drop ceiling outside is definitely not "up to code". I argued that with the Insurance company when they called me. Which im no Inspector, but i just pretty damn well know that a drop ceiling couldnt be allowed to be put on the outside of a building. lol. The bank manager there at the bank was nice and helpful. I think it was just kinda out of his hands after he called the main branch or w/e. I wonder is there a way to get a copy of the video from the drivethrough?

insurance companies pay out all the time for hail damage, floods, lightening strike fires....etc.... whats that?
an act of God!
thats why WE pay insurance!
x3 on the lawyer.

X4 on lawyer. Take pictures of vehicle damage and building damage for proof.

Act of God?! NOT A CHANCE! If it were a tree or something of that type then I would say that you were SOL. But, this was part of their building, and it caused property damage. So, therefore, it falls under the category of negligence. You have a good case and you need to press this and get the advice of a good lawyer.

:D

The Bank payed for it. After a week or so the Regional Manager contacted me and worked out a deal. Im glad ...I like that bank.

That is great that the problem was solved in a civilized manner. It is important whenever anything happens like this take plenty of good pictures. Pictures that show a story of what happen.

Glad to hear that, but I hope you got it fully repaired; including cosmetic damage such as the scratches. I wouldn't accept anything less.

A call to the state Attorney General's office and the state Insurance Commissioner's office might have been helpful. You'd be surprised how quickly these things get resolved once they place a call to the bank's insurance company.

Btw...You should have pics and I would report them to whomever is in charge of local building codes. You might just save another customer's car.

:D

It was Just a busted headlight and a small ding and 2 places where it scratched my pin striping off......I didnt think it was worth the time to take pics since they already paid me.
