dana 30 on XJ will it fit on TJ

Are all the mounts(control arms, trac bar, shocks,etc) the same on a 92 XJ as they are for a 2000 TJ, in other words, can I swap the housings? Thanks in advance for the help

Yeh it will work, bolt right in. Just remember that an xj Dana 30 is high pinion, with reverse cut gears, so you will not be able to use the gears from the tj axle.

95-99 are desired, no vacuum disconnect, better u-joints, high-pinion

my 97 is high pinion, as well as the later years. xjs were always high pinion

yup, you're right as far as the 97 part goes. i said i'd be looking for more info . 2000 and on were low pinion. i knew some had the low pinion, just wasn't sure of the year. had a buddy in hs that had a low pinion 30 in his xj

Just a note, there are some late '99 produced XJ's with the LP30 in them. Probably just some overlap in parts supply, but nonetheless, they are out there.

2000-2001 XJs are low pinion dana 30s, jeep knew they were gonna stop making the XJ so they used TJ low pinions for the last two years

what about zj's, I have a carrier ring and pinion form my little sisters zj, that I was gonna use in my 91 xj, are the zj's standard cut or reverse? The axle is at home in hky so I cant go look at it right now

ZJ dana 30s are LowPinion and use the Long Pinion - IE different from TJ or XJ low pinion axles, there pinions are not interchangeable.
