Davie County trail ideas

Another update - I didn't get a chance to stop in GSO, but I will next week. The rocks there are the size of car hoods and it will probably take about ten us of with a skidsteer and two or three trailers to get the out.

I called one of my local buddies here and he said they are doing a job in W-S right now and there is a bunch of rock they are hauling out. He is coming out this weekend to see where to drop the dirt and rock. Has anyone else had any hits out there?

Update:

I called the developers of Kinderton and they are going to start on 30 new lots in the next couple of days. They need the dirt, but the rocks and concrete, if available will be delivered to me. Just thought I would let everyone know there is progress.

I would be interested in helping so let me know when you start. If it will help any i have a dodge cummins that can help with pulling anything around.

I will know more after this weekend when we will get started - I hope pretty soon - as stated earlier in the thread, we already have one pretty good run starting out in a muddy creek - then up the side of a pretty good hill side a couple hundred feet with some small rocks at the top, after a few more times up it we should have a challenging line. I'm excited and ready to go.

if and when this gets opened up will you be accepting donations for riding up there.......

I told Ryan to charge you a security deposit for future livestock therapy if you show up John. :flipoff2:

On a serious note, does anyone have or know of a good waiver that could help keep Ryan out of trouble should someone get hurt?

He may want to have his personal lawyer write something up that would cover all bases. I am not sure that a homemade thing would stand up in a serious case.

I am also illing to help out....just give me the time and location and I'll see if I can make it.

Guy's,

A buddy of mine rode around in his buggy this weekend and found a couple more lines - I would like to get started seriously at the beginning of October - there is a bunch of undergrowth lingering around now that will die on the first frost. I will have a meet and greet party prolly sometime in October or November.

I'm relatively new here, so meeting you guys is pretty high on my priority list. Let me know when and where, and I'll try to be there. I can bring my back, a shovel, and an iron rake, but no heavy equipment. I can, however, grill a bitchin' burger, and I'm happy to cook if need be. Local wheeling places seem to be in short supply, (legally,) and it's great to see you offering up your land like this. Thanks!

just give me some notice so i can take off from work, and i can be there any saturday. ive got a 4x8 trailer we can use to haul out debris and whatnot, i figure its easier to manuver between trees than a 16 footer.

I'm pretty new here too, in the w-s area so not too far away. Will gladly lend a hand - as above best w/ a shovel, and also alot of smartass wisecracks.

I live in Welcome and would love to help. I rode with Joel a few weeks ago at Crackers neck. I love meeting people from the forum.

DARN!!!! I wish you had this idea 1 year ago!!!!!

I wish you guys would have thought about this a year ago. even 6 months ago. I had more rocks and more boulders the size of trucks and cars and just every bit of rock your land could have handled up here in durham. Next to Southpoint mall there have made a SUPER TARGET and strip mall and there was a pond on the property. they filled it in and the low lying side of the land with TONS and I would bet 200+ boulders that would have been amazing. We would have needed 18wheelers to haul 3 rocks at a time on flatbeds. I posted this topic a long time ago and did not get much feedback. Sorry guys that was a GOLDMINE or JACKPOT for boulders and would have made an amazing rock garden/ pro rock garden. you could have held comps i bet with those rocks. I used to pose on them since that what i do best. hahahaha!!!! I could park my rubicon on the face of some of these rocks. It was insane!!!!! TRUST me i miss those rocks everyday I dont get to go play on them. there were piles the size of houses. I need to look around here and see what else I can find. I will let you all know!! I am down for clearing trails/land. My best friend and I use to clear mad trails all the time. We will help as much as we can. DRIVE around and keep eyes peeled and just ask. we will find something.

Definitely...by the way...did you forget to set your alarm this morning? :driver:

Don't know if you have any rocks yet but they are doing construction near where my dad lives in Mooresville and they have a pile of rocks and slabs out front that have been there for a while, everytime I drive by I think about trying to go over it but my chevy would roll w/in two seconds, and its not allowed to get body damage, lol. Seriously though If you want I can probably get my dad to get their # fer ya.

You know what I think would be a sweet obstical for the park though? I know you said you have a creek, if its big enough you could partially damn it up enough to create like a partially deep water crossing. That would be sweet. Also I say make a mud pit as well. Wish I could help ya but I'm in school at the moment, post up whenever you do end up doing the work and maybe I can make it out.

DUDE...the ENTER key is your friend...think PARAGRAPHS, one to three sentences or so.

As for not checking with you 6 months or a year ago...all I can say are you sure you were not around then, because it seems like it has been YEARS or DECADES since I started seeing your post whoring :D :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Seriously...I think we may have to install a WORD count limit on your replies, heh

Sam...uses ENTER key alot and ... alot...Hinton
