Stopped at a Hendrick dealer yesterday as the wife wanted to see a new car. I didn't realize how slimy Hendricks had become. These were just a few of the items on the dealer add on section of the sticker:

Window Tint: $400 - holy shit, they must be tinting with gold now. This is for 2 windows as the rears were tinted from the factory.
Tint Lifetime Warranty: $200 - because if you're only paying $400 for 2 windows you'll probably have issues that need fixing later.
Nitrogen in the tires: $200 - don't even have a comment for this one.

Sadly there were more items on there. I assume the percentage of people they screw makes up for the percentage of people that just walk away due to shady business practices.

Never had luck with Hendrick, I went to their dealership in fayetville one day after work, was in my work clothes when they seen me they informed me that they didn't sell vehicles to low income buyers! I neve said a word I got in my truck the next day I went right to bob king in Wilmington purchased a brand new z71 and they didn't have any trouble taking a couple stacks of bands off of me

When we got my wife's Venza everything on the lot had a vinyl pinstripe that was dealer added (I think it was $100 or something). We chose her car before it actually was on their lot and told them specifically we didn't want the stripe. When it came in they called us to come pick it up, they said it was in the back for final cleanup and pinstriping. We made them stop in process and remove it. They had already done the nitro fill but we didn't pay for it.

Paul Ciener ford was the king of add-ons in the 90s.

The side sticker sometimes would equal the factory sticker

Reminds me of when I was a kid with my Papaw when we went to the GMC and Cadillac dealer for him to get a new truck. There were 3 brothers my Papaw knew that owned a very successful trucking company that hauled wood chips to the local paper mill that showed up while we were there. When one of the brothers wanted a new vehicle they all get one. They dressed like hillbillies everywhere they went but always had a pocket full of money. They all wanted a new Cadillac but none of the salesman would even talk to them due to their looks. My Papaw knew the owner of the dealership and got him out there to talk to them and they told him they would take their cash to the next closest dealer. I would say someone got their ass chewed over losing around $100k - $125k sale.

It's dumb to buy a car between the first and 25th of the month. Your best weapon at a dealer is to just say no. It's amazing how much shit they will knock off just to hit a quota at the end of a month. Just had a great experience FWIW from Hendrick in Cary. Told the sales manager flat out that I don't have to buy here and showed him a list of stock numbers I was considering from other dealers in a 100 mile radius. Walked out the first night I stopped by and spent the next 2 days negotiating over the phone. I just kept saying no, and told them that there were 3 other dealers calling me throughout the day. The price kept falling and my trade amount kept going up.

I laughed at the $400 tint job for two windows and told them they can go peel the tint off if they want me to buy the truck. I'll get Da'quan and his buddies to tint my shit for $60 cash money near my office in east Durham. Same with the nitrogen fill. Told them they can go deflate the tires then fill them with regular air, it's worked fine for years for me. They didn't think either of those attempts at haggling were as funny, but guess what...it came off the sticker price and it is still tinted and filled with fancy air.

Damn! I just thought it was Hendrick City Chevrolet. Long story, but I did buy a 2015 Silverado on the last day of the month. After 7 hours of BS, I left with the truck. Later, changed my mind. Tried trading it in & ordering a 2016. Deal was somewhat done, & they Said new truck was ordered. Only, we kept auguring over them Not confirming my trade in price, or New price. I went to Ben Mynatt, got my trade verified, & new price on the Ordered 2016. Ben Mynatt got my new truck, & deal was done. Last I heard from City, they were waiting on my New truck. And, That was 2 weeks after I received my New truck, of which City said they ordered 2 weeks, Before I went to Mynatt! Unbelievable, the LIES City thought I would believe! :flipoff:
