So apparently, the key issue that will put the government to a stand-still is gun control. So much so that Democrats are willing to pull off a "no bill-no break" 60's style sit-in where NOBODY leaves until they get their piece of legislation passed.

To accomplish this, they ordered pizza, brought in Dunkin Donuts, sat and dozed off under blankets and didn't leave for over 24 hours. Aside from the whole "gun control" matter, that just summed up a typical weekend for my kids at my house!

no its because you arent a supporting member.
Pay $5/yr and joint the cool kids...plus I think it entitles you to 1 night in the Clemmons' redesigned guest chalet.
Right,
@trailhugger ?

Shouldn't it be free for LEOs?
:flipoff2:

Screw that. they want to sit in until something is done. Go Lock and chain the doors, let them stay in there and starve to death or resort to cannibalism until there's nothing but bones left.

I just don't get this one. I try really hard to see and understand both (or more) sides of an issue and where people are coming from, try to figure what makes people do what they do.
It's an election year and both parties have a candidate who is massively unfavorable. There is a potential for big swings in the presentation in Congress. Most people tying to start playing it safe for teh next several months.
Yet you have these goofballs doing this, with no potential for success. As far as i can tell, the bill they are begging for a vote on has essentially already been shot down in the Senate and has no chance of success. So why bother? Must be purely a publicity stunt. Then the Repubs figure, well fuck it we'll just recess for 2 weeks. Gee well now nothing gets done at all - so these goon say, well then we'll just stay here and keep it up. WHY? They've already recessed. You might as well go home and come back on the 5th and start up your shenanigans then.
It's like they just want to be able to sya they are doing something, without actually doing something useful.

It also reminds me of my 5 year old, who used to throw a shitfit and sit down in the middle of a store when she didn't get what she wanted.
Guess what, she doesn't do that anymore b/c it didn't get her anywhere.
