Thinking I might go, have a spot reserved at Crawfords...I'll be leaving Thurday night after work if I go.. if the wife doesn't go I'll have an open seat also. I hadn't wanted to go due to the crowd, but after checking several 4x4 boards it looks like gas prices are keeping lots-o-people at home.

Look for me there, I will be in the middle field of the main camp. Won't be easy to miss, Big ol White bus with green stripes. We'll be riding Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I figure gas will keep any away too, but as I have said before, the Dixie run has gotten a lot better the last couple of years. Barely any conjestion. Hope to see you there.

Well thats not always true about turn out......

Just to let a bunch of you know, the majority of people who go are from other states. and gas has not kept people i know from coming this year from states like VA,SC,GA,TN,OH,WV,KY and FL. Dont kid yourself. There will be a ton of people there this year!!!! Who cares about gas if you dont make all these trips to little places like UWHARRIE and stuff, then you can afford to go to big places for an event. Well I have turned down wheeling for 2 reasons lately. 1 my POS was broken and #2 the gas prices, but there is NOTHING and i mean NOTHING that will stop me from going to the DIXIE RUN at TELLICO!!!!!!!! SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!

LOL!!!!!!

Well you guys might as well get over it. I was there and you didn't have to get near me if you didn't want to. No one made you come over and hang out by my HUGE campfires. Thanks to JORDAN for the Fire that will be know for years to come. 20 foot flames and 10 to 15 feet of ashes on top. Everyone stood about 30 feet away sweating with short sleeve or no shirts on and shorts with flip flops. HAHAHA!!!! Looked like a Volcano. :) Anyway it was good seeing some of you there this year like bigwoody and studnuts and others that made it out even though gas prices were a bit much. Saturday was a funny night by the fire listening to rediculous stories from certain people and the singing between all 4 tents was so damn funny. LMAO!!!! There are stories to last a lifetime. I can't wait for next year. Time to do more mods before APRIL when its time to make the BIG trip. Who is coming with us?? :driver:

Care to explain why? It was in a controlled enviroment even with running water, he even went the extra mile and brought fire brick that we stacked to make a 'fire pit' for containment. How is that stupid or ignorant? I guess you forgot the lesson on being responsible.

HAHAHAH!!!!

Even CONTROLLED PROFESSIONAL BURNS get out of hand.

I think you missed something STUDNUTS said there. Not only did we bring enough cinderblocks to make a HUGE fire pit, we also had running water and enough fire ext's to put out a house fire. You also dont realize that around the fire area we poured over 27 gallons of water to soak the ground. Dont worry that fire was not going to do anything but give everyone a place to hang out and chill next to while they stayed warm. Your fire looked like the end of a match. I impressed that 13 year old and showed him if its done right you can have something BEAUTIFUL and NICE and SAFE just like STUDNUTS said. Also to clear something else up for WHITETRASH. The wood I brought was from my new housing development and it was used extra scrap and junk wood that was carried away everyday and dumped in local landfills nearby here. If not burned then oneday sooner when it fills up and they have to build a new landfill site next to your neighborhood or house, don't B_ t _ h and wine because people tried to help. There was 840lbs of wood i brought along with 400+lbs of real firewood my friend brought and we burned it all. Next year will be even better so bring marshmellows and grahm crackers and chocolate. LOL!!!!! :smokin: :driver:

Sounds like I coulda made s'mores from upper2!

bad? Shit, I meant it as good.. :)
