Alright so we have the get together planned for the most part. I’m on to my next event!
I’ve already discussed this with The Ranch, where this will be next year, date TBD.

Much like the shitbox challenge at Gulches, I’m picturing either a 33” or 35” tire limit. No motor swaps, mostly street based vehicle. Seat belts and fire extinguisher required. Fastest time wins. Whoever puts in the best show gets awarded too.

Also to keep it interesting, have a pro class where anything goes, but the main event is really centered around someone bringing a POS XJ or similar and thrashing on it. Course will be set where it could be done even on 31s if you’re willing to beat in it

It would be very spectator friendly, lots of room for folks to get there and watch.

FYI if you don’t already know, The Ranch has cabins, RV camping with power and water, tent camping and showers, LOTS of parking, a restaurant/bar, arena where they usually have a band for these type of events, playground for the kids and more.

There would be a pot for the winners with most of the proceeds from spectator traffic and such would be donated to an Autism non profit, of which I am still researching which would be best to support and use funds appropriately.

None of this is set in stone, this thread is for discussion. Who would be interested? What rules/requirements should we have? Will you travel to Canvas, WV to watch and/ or compete? For the record I imagine this would be a small amount of money winnings and mostly for bragging rights, entertainment and a little cash.

I'd be in to compete if the race jeep is done...... 2 Fire extinguishers per vehicle one by driver one accessible by safety staff.? Length of course? Helments? If campground is full are there hotels close by?

Man read the thread title and I thought this was going to be a race between the D6 and the wonton mounty.
Am disappointed

We did something like this with with the Crozet folks. It was a freaking blast. @zuke I'm sure remembers it all very well. It was the cheap truck challenge, I think you could have a max of 1000 in the vehicle?

I actually kinda forget the exact rules, and the website is long gone, But I'm pretty sure the 'limit' was $500, with seconds off lap times awarded for cost below $500, Safety equipment was not part of the value, and was unlimited. There was no enforcement of the spending limit, we kept it honest by allowing any competitor to buy any other competitor's car after the event for the declared value, sellers could remove the safety equipment, or negotiate that part of the sale if they chose to.

My BIL has the Scout II I ran in the last 2 events... I might borrow it back from him for this if it happens!

Just made my day. Thank you sir.

So ECORS a class type deal???

But what about?
Or what about?
What does sort of stock mean?
If I only cut 98% of the frame rail its still stock right?
I mean 4.0's came with an air injected smog pump, thats the same thing as a turbo right?

I’d hate to over regulate it, but I guess we would need some things in place. Certainly shooting for that $1500 POS someone found on market place to come out and put on a show

Given the current used car fiasco, I think 2k would be a good mark, minus safety equipment. Pure run what you brung with a buy out option at the end for 2k.

But would you enter what’s left of the Ram Charger is what I wanna know lol. Certainly a rig capable and ready for a show.

I wouldn't sell it at the end, but otherwise I could find a set of 35's and it would meet the criteria. But I already have other options letting grass grow under them that would be excellent candidates :D

Honestly, after the headaches....if I ever was inolved in regulating any type of motorsport event again there would be 2 classes.
1 - Claimer Class. Whatever you bring any competitor can buy for $X. The order of purchase is defined by Z rule in case multiple people want to buy
2 - How big a pair ya got. Send It. Class.

Anything else is a fawking headache

I've always wanted to do one of these events but don't usually have a couple grand to throw at a trash rig....oh wait....

Anyway, the biggest horseshittery is some guy that buys an already built rig that you know damn well is beyond the $2k limit and got it from his neighbor "for a steal". I'm sure buddy. I guess you have to use the honor system.

The only other way I see to keep it fair is to subtract money from the budget. Bought it with a swapped LS.....minus $500. So now you're at $1500 for total budget. Already got a lift kit and lockers.....minus $1000. The total package?.....minus $1500. So now you only have $500 to buy this badass mo-sheen and have it race ready.

That's where the claim rule comes in :D

I'd love to see, and maybe get in this. But, doubt I could trek to WV to do so.

I’d be there for wheelin and debauchery. Probably wouldn’t tow a couple thousand doll hairs to WV just to light it on fire, watch it burn and then have to drag the ashes home. But I’ll definitely watch you guys do that!

I'm sure I have wasted more money on much stupider shit :lol:
