Dumpster Fire Shootout

The thing is I’d don’t specifically want someone to buy a rig just for the event. Say you got a rig on 37s but you can scrounge up a set of 35s, maybe that would work.

You're gonna have to decide if it will be a cheap-ass claimer class, or like this.
Bc those are very different.

Someone who is already up to 37s has invested in their vehicle and probably loves it. They'll perform well but it won't be a dumpster fire shit show.

And then everyone is like what if I bought it for $500 but it came with a 6.0 liter with one ton axles and running 43” sticky’s. Way to shit on your idea for a fun time. Good luck man. New idea....

If you want to race the beater class you have to post up your beater. Top 10 (if there is that many) get to race. The others go to the run what you brung class.

Yeah I can be talked into doing some dumb shit in the moment, but I'm not bringing my wheeler with the intent of beating it just to beat it. I do however have a truck I could put a little money towards to do just that.

I am definitely more interested in the "buy something cheap" and prepare to wheel......the whole cheap, upfit in a couple of weekends, and have fun breaking it is what appeals to me.
No pre-existing rigs with all the issues shaken out of them........that just takes the fun out of it
 
This is a $300 XJ I bought off a NC4x4 member. Chopped some sheetmetal off and tossed on a $150 set of wheels and tires from another NC4x4 member.

I think to keep it fun, entertaining and simple maybe just a straight up “run what ya brung” and no classes of regulations other than safety.

Instead of a cash prize, you get a cool trophy and bragging rights. Fastest time, and best in show. Really the goal is just to get a bunch of folks together to watch the event for a few hours, and hang out and wheel the rest of the weekend and raise a little money.

You saw my rig on 42's. I'd put 35's on it in a minute and beat the shit out of it. Hell I beat the shit out of it on 42's.......

I say we just throw the tire max and all out the window. Anyone enter anything and go with it. Obviously the dude in a buggy doesn’t get to brag that he beat the XJ by 30 seconds, but everyone could just keep up with who had an equally matched rig and “compete” among themselves.
 
The only REAL way to do it is on a time constraint. Submit your beater for entry in its stock form. Choose 10. You now have 1 week and $1000 to “modify” it for race day. That’s when the sawzall, Lincoln lockers, and big ol BALLS determine the winner.

I say we just show up and point at random lines and say "bet you can't make that" and watch what happens, then get drunk and holler "WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!?" until we pass out.

What's the deal here.....is the dumpster fire out?
I dig the 24hrs. Of lemons type setup, but we need to get some traction with rules/details.

I keep looking at more and more shitbox XJ's.....and the wife keeps telling me I have no reason to do so......help me prove her wrong....then help me find a place to hide it.
