Early to mid 2000s 1/2 ton pickups

MY son has a 03 Siverado 3 door and in most situations the rear doors are a pain to access.Unless your parked all alone somewhere its a small chore to get stuff in or out of the rear doors.
I had an 03 Sierra with the rear swing doors.......I loved everything about that truck except those doors.

Left something on the rear seat.... awesome, just open both doors on that side of the truck, and you can access it.

Have extra people traveling with you, who are unfamiliar with the doors, be prepared for the rear doors to be slammed shut on the front door by unknowing passengers. (Often, several times by the same people).

I had one, my dad still does. It was actually very convenient for putting rear facing child seat in the front passenger seat (had an airbag override) and loading baby from the side. Other than that 4 doors are better...

I don't know about y'all, but I'm looking forward to the day I can afford one of those F250 4x4s with the 7.3 Rodrilla motors in it. I rode shotgun with @ghost a time or two. They feel fun.

For the price of used trucks right now it just made more sense to me. I do enjoy the roar of that motor....

well I've gotten real serious about finding a truck now. taking a half day Friday to go look at two trucks.
2007 tundra 5.7 SR5
2001 Silverado 2500

both have similar miles, tundra is on a car lot, other is private party with crappy pictures and needs some work/ maintenance preformed. both trucks check all the boxes im looking for, tundra is more expensive to buy and probably cost of parts more expensive as well.

Fords are cheaper for reasons...

I started looking for another GMT800 for a cheap truck to replace my much more expensive truck but I quickly came to the conclusion that clean, rust free, non squatted and straight piped gmt800s at a price I'm willing to pay don't exist any more...

I won't spend more than $10k. Started looking at Avalanches too mainly because they are less popular and I don't really care how ugly they are.

I said Avalanche...
Update  :

Probably both get the same gas mileage too

Well today was a swing and a miss.
Tundra I wanted to look at sold
Second tundra I found looks like a beer can
2500 guy is sketchy and won’t give me an address and I wasn’t driving 3.5 hrs without an address.
Then found a “one owner” 05 1500. It was clean and no rust but something was messed up with the transfer case and needed tires and he was asking premium price so with everything wrong with it I wasn’t playing

I can see if my cousin still has the truck that he was trying to sell if it'd be along the lines of what you're looking for.

It's a white RCSB 2000 or 2001 Silverado 1500. 4.8, auto, 4wd. Newer model factory aluminum rims. Recently painted. A nice little truck, really. I think he was only asking like 5000 or so.

Ended up finding an 07 tundra with 170k on it local to me on Facebook… 15 minutes after it was posted. Two owner guy I got it from and his grandfather, the guy is somewhat disabled so it needs some maintenance, but it was also 6500 less than a similar one I had looked at and we couldn’t come to an agreement on.
