Edge comp box or super chip flashpaq for cummins

i got a buddie whos running the edge juice with attitude oh his 04 cummins and he loves it. not sure if it being a 2001 will make too much difference just my $.02

my friend had a comp in his 01 made good power, dont know much about the superchips, i had a smarty in my 2000 had good low end power, then had a juice w/att, had better all around power, the quad adrenalin is supposed to be the best last i heard, just some other options.

The quad is known for problems. Edge comp all the way. I made 839rwhp - 1500ftlbs with a drag comp. See if you can find a used drag comp they will fuel higher in the rpms. Save your money and stay away from the superchip. Smarty is great if you want to make low end power but its only capable of 65hp on a vp truck. And if your looking for big power it will kill top end power.

They are over priced and under featured. Any truck with a vp will be limited to around 65 additional hp with a programmer style mod. For your money plug in boxes are where its at

I don't think superchips has ever made a product for any vehicle that was worth a shit. Like Lucas said, edge comp box is where it's at...Though their customer service sucks. Buy some gauges and save up for replacing the injection pump.

Another echo for the Edge comp. Out of the 4 programmers/boxes i've ran nothing compares to it.

Edge comp box all the way! but you must take the following into consideration
If you add a programer to the 24v...
You will destroy your stock auto trans or stock clutch.....
You will make the IP go out faster...unless you put a FASS or Airdog lift pump on it.
Basicly if you aren't able to replace all this expensive shit.....leave the truck stock.

The comp box made my truck roll coal and it was fun. I took it off because I didn't wanna put $4,000 transmission/$2,000 IP,LP in it.
Think really hard before you juice it up and run the shit out of it:flipoff2:

While this can be true, there is little evidence that a box will decrease the life of the vp. If the truck has ever ran Sub 10psi your vp is most likely going to fail. If a box such as.a comp causes failure its generally as soon as you install it, it damages the driver solenoid (yellow wire)

Well its got a 5spd with 699HP clutch and I've ordered injector's
an lift pump for it I wasn't planning on driving the shit out it but when I wanted to play to bust some rice burner or mustang lol I can. Now explain about the yellow wire if you don't mind

Is it a single disc? The only person I know that sells clutches like that would be valair.
The yellow wire is tapped to extend the fueling duration which creates additional fuel and in turn creates more power. In some cases the install of a box which extends the solenoids duration can cause an electronic failure within the pump.

That must be one heck of a clutch engagement lol. I didn't know there was a single disc around that would take that. Did you need upgraded hydraulics?
