Porsche All Taycan Models - Porsche USA

Porsche Taycan goes 0-60mph in less than 2.6secs, has 670hp. And is fully electric!
I actually think this kind of thing is the key to getting consumers on board w/ EVs.
Convince people that they are indeed cool, as shown in lots of fun cars etc.
I can't afford that Porsche, but look, here's a Honda built on similar tech... at least I can get close.....

I'm also a prime candidate for a cheapo ev. I drive 8 miles to work and back each day. 10 if I'm feeling froggy and want to get breakfast at the store along the way. I fill my f150 up every 2 weeks whether I need to or not. Honestly if there was a cheapish conversion kit available for any small truck that ran on a looser 24v pallet jack lead acid battery I would likely get it. I have plenty of chargers at wrk so my commute would be free.

I think you've got that backwards.
You'd be an ideal candidate if you have a long commute. Then youd be getting the "fuel" free and not spending a ton on gas anymore. As it is now, the difference is small no matter what you drive.

I would want a 6.5 foot bed and the ability to tow 8,000 lbs for a minimum of 6+ hours without charging before I will consider buying one. I'm guessing they are ten years away from that being possible due to battery technology.
Not really. The bed length is just a market thing, and the only thing limiting the towing time is the battery size. Only takes a bigger battery. Once the demand and market size expands enough, they would have a variant for that.

EDIT: I just checked and they claim a distance up up to 410+ miles on a single charge, and will have an optional rediculous 180kwh battery. If you're averaging 60 mph that right there is almost 7 hrs of driving. Now loaded it's probably less, but the point is it's already in the ballpark of what you're asking for now.

I have zero facts to back this up, but I doubt the range is anywhere near 6+ hours towing 8,000 lbs at 70 mph.
