Just a reminder, when your looking for Parts, or Deals, & browsing Craig's List, Don't forget FB Market Place! I just may be Better! Got Tons of Jeep parts, including Axles, like 44s & 60s, that some of you have been looking for.

Sometimes it is. Currently a guy on there that has a truck I want. He has posted it 3 times and complains about people wanting parts and how he “WILL NOT PART OUT” yet he will not answer my messages. I’ve sent 3 messages to the guy, he reads them and will not reply. It has me pretty upset, stuff like that really gets to me.

I have scored a few great deals on there because people get lots of interest but no one follows through and the seller gets tired of it. I have had zero luck selling anything on there.

Selling on FB is the absolute worst.People won’t read the whole ad and think they’re getting something they’re not or uncle Bobbie joe bought one from his neighbor at the trailer park for half of what your askin and the guys lettin him make payments. It never ceases to amaze me how people lack the ability to do a basic business transaction,be on time or do what they say they’re gonna do.

FB marketplace is the new C/L with the exceptions that:

1- it is way harder to find stuff

2- the people on FB are way dumber (yes, apparently that is possible)

I have never used the Facebook market place, but I have to disagree that it could possibly attract less intellectual people than CL.

The only way that could at all be possible is if the people using Facebook actually have a negative IQ......

I have sold a truck on there pretty easily. But there were 10 people that hit me up compared to the 1 that showed up. I’ve sold a couple things successfully but usually comes with a lot of the crap shooters.

I explained this to a friend the other day: I believe there is a bunch of people in the world today that live in this virtual reality/fantasy land of being able to buy things they cannot. They fulfil their desire by browsing and contacting people about things they can’t actually buy to begin with, but it makes them feel good.

Example: Jimmy has $39 extra dollars till pay day which is 3 days away. He always lives paycheck to paycheck. But he browses the Marketplace and CL every day. He messages people about trucks he can’t afford by any means whatsoever. But it makes him feel good, and then he sits around on Friday night smoking L&M smokes and drinking Busch Light and tells John Boy and Henry Jean about how he was gonna buy this Chevy Silverado with the Carolina squat and a custom dash on some 35” Thornbirds, but Tommy would not come off the price and he didn’t like the wheels so he passed. He’s considering this other truck with a Cummings if the guy on FB Marketplace will come down to $5k but he needs to meet halfway at the Sheetz.
In reality Jimmy can’t buy lunch on Thursday, much less a truck.

People just want to waste others time in things they can’t afford and act as if they can. I think it makes them feel good.

Disclaimer: there is nothing wrong with living paycheck to paycheck. But don’t waste people’s time if you can’t buy.

The one thing I have learned buying and selling things online is that not all people value their, (or your) time equally....

Look at the profiles of some of the folks who contact you then get back w us.

Sold through FB marketplace some, never bought...

Until last week I had only moderate success selling items unless I was giving it away for free and delivered.

Shit. I didn't know you also knew Jimmy.

Buy and sell on it all the time. Down here CL is almost non-existent/ full of spam/ nothing but business ads. FB marketplace is the way to go. The other one we have is Bookoo which is like CL but more local and is paid account based. If you want to ad anything to the post other than a couple sentences you have to be a “member”. Other than that it’s word of mouth for the most part. I’ll agree with the others though that they are all infested with window lickers and tire kickers no matter what the forum is for sales but I attribute a lot of that to the area I live in.

I've said it before, I'll say it again...I buy a couple grand/month in parts on FB for quite some time. I generally stick to the vehicle specific groups though. My rules are 1) never try to buy something you need right then 2) buy every deal you can make a buck on, whether you need it or not 3) If there's one for sale, there will be another...they're facebook parts, not a Gutenberg Bible. 4) Offer a fair price, when they reject, that's fine...50% of the time, they'll be back. Then lower your offer price because you've probably already bought the part you need (see #3), and don't need an extra (see #2).

That said...I've refused to list anything for sale in a public forum or FB for a decade, because of all the Jimmy's in the world. If I see someone needs something I have, I'll offer it. Funny thing is, most still want it for free.

Tonya has pretty good luck selling of MP but she only list items that are $20 or less.Bunch of cheap/broke ass people wont around here.
