Is this the go to for selling stuff now? It seems craigslist doesn't have nearly the amount of stuff on it anymore. I was looking at what a used 302 intake is going for a few days ago and hardly got any results, and was looking at ladder racks last night, same thing, hardly any results.

Do you have to have a bookface account to use the marketplace?

I still use and prefer Craigslist, but Facebook marketplace is much more active.

And yes, you must have a Facebook account to use it. Having an account doesn't automatically give them all your info. In fact, it's probably no worse than registering on any other forum or website. Yes, they are going to track your every activity, but Google and Apple are already doing that. If you register online, and keep your profile private, and don't add any friends, I don't really see what they could get from you. Where they get busy is when you download the app to your phone. And they will try to force you to do that by making it very inconvenient to use via mobile browser. But you can force it to use desktop version and still do everything without downloading any apps.

I stopped using CL when the nationwide search sites stopped working a couple years back. Hopped on CL a couple weeks back because I couldn’t find something locally on marketplace, and only pulled like 8 results that really didn’t even match what I was looking for. So that’s a long winded ‘yes’.

Searchtempest has always worked fine for me, and now you can even do direct results, which is much more reliable than their old way.

I was noticing the same thing about Craigslist a few months ago. I don't have a Failbook account, but it looks like I will have to create one.

Facebook market place straight sucks. The search is terrible. All ads. And only shows things based on the algorithm.
But everything is there now.
Yours must look different than mine. Very few ads, mostly trucks, tractors, and shop equipment. Though there are random WTFs that sneak in. Like chicks in yoga pants. I do agree that the search is crap. It decides what it thinks you are looking for. Earlier I was looking up rotary phase converters, so it also included transformers, and now my page shows a different kind of transformers haha:

Yup. Marketplace has taken over. Craigslist will be gone in a year I’d bet. Market place shows me all kinds of things, minimal adds, and is super convenient. I like that I can at least see minimal info about the person I’m dealing with on FB.

Craigslist doesn’t even come to mind for me anymore if I’m planning to sell something or look for something. Last several times I looked on CL, I’d already seen it on FB Marketplace.

I've spent several hours on Market Place the last 2 days. Much better than CL. Does anyone know "Dave Meile" of Brevard, NC. He has a crap load of CJ / YJ, hardtop doors, for sale on Market Place. I told him to come Here. He said he used to be a member, & probably will come back. Had a parts CJ in the pics, but didn't list it. Couple of Shop buildings that look commercial, but could see no signs! A few days ago, I shared a MP ad from Lexington [i think], that looked like a CJ junk yard. Told him about Here too, to which he was un-aware of NC4x4.

I made a Facebook account a few months ago just so I could look at the Marketplace. I only have about a dozen friends and have it set as private as I can get it.

I really like Marketplace, and for me the search seems to work pretty good. I found a bellhousing for my LS swap in Mooresville for a great price, even including having it shipped to me.

That guy lives right down the road from me. He parts CJ's all the time. I picked up a grill from him a couple years ago. Name is Michael. I didn't think to mention the site to him, for some reason.

I think it's better than CL but I get a lot of "is this still available" and no response after that.

I just found the Brevard guy [Dave], with another post. Seems he or they, strip Jeeps & sell the parts. It's called Mr. CJs Inc.

Hes on 64 (rosman highway) on the left leaving brevard next to the gun shop/range. Iirc he sells on ebay as well. Seems to always have alot. I bought a wrecked wagoneer there years back (maybe 12) but not sure if it was a business then or even him that i bought from

I never used those for their intended purpose, but I did always get a kick out if looking through them and watching the crazy people.
