Fbook Marketplace

I was noticing the same thing about Craigslist a few months ago. I don't have a Failbook account, but it looks like I will have to create one.
I ran from it for a long time but there are things I wanted to look at that were only on FB and I was using Jake's account to do it.I finally gave in and created an account.I have like 58 friends or something, never was much on post counts or #'s of friends.

I never used those for their intended purpose, but I did always get a kick out if looking through them and watching the crazy people.
They were the best.Thought your life sucked??? Spend a few minutes on CL personals and you feel like your king of the world.

I go to FB marketplace as a last resort for selling stuff. Finding stuff is ok, but the filtering for vehicles doesn't have a 2wd/4wd option, which stinks, and it seems like you can't leave the filtering in place and change the search terms, you have to re-filter. So it can be a pain. And lord some of the stuff you sell, if it's popular with the right crowds, will get you 50 dipshits a day asking you questions that are already answered in the ad.

They do that on all of em.Cl, fbmp, and esp eBay.They seem to know how to type out a message but not read a full description.

That's EXACTLY what I say to people. I love looking at crap people have for sale. The old Autotrader and Carolina Bargain Trader, I kept those rags in business back in the day.

I like to look in person. Lots of times I’ve found/ bought something better than what I came for and for less money. Typically folks advertise what they think is the most valuable and stuff just laying around is not as valuable.

You can create an account w a generic name,BUT you'll find that theres pages you want to see that you will have to have a legit account to view.Been there done that.I gave in because everything had gone that way.The trader papers was a thing of the past and CL was over ran w scammers and folks who never get back w ya.FB marketplace was where it was all at.Make you a legit account.set your privacy settings,be picky about who your friends are and make it work for you.It can be as drama free as you make it.Im not even friends w my own momma cause I know I'll be subjected to my sisters daily drama.

Except for the 1984 concerns and literally handing your life history to Zuckerberg.

Never know one day I may need to make a run for the border and as few databases as have facial recognition on my ass as possible Id appreciate..

I guess they could find out if they wanted to but you don’t have to give ALL your info.

I mean, you don't have to (and shouldn't) download the app. Also don't have to have pics of yourself. It's not like your various IDs with pictures taken in high def DSLR at close range aren't already in plenty of databases. I just don't really get the tin foil around it all... You probably already carry around a smartphone that's way more intrusive.

How many of y'all have Instagram?

I was just thinking about replying about how it probably doesn't matter since I use Instagram (a lot). I don't use my name there either, but my wife uses hers and she tags me in everything soooooo

Why would you use your real picture?

I created an account a month or two ago using the same picture in my avatar. They shut it down after about 1-2 days, LOL.

yep. Ive made a couple of "troll" accounts, but they all got shut down in under a week. They wanted my DL to "verify" my identity. Cukerburg can suck it.

Right, so FB already knows where you are.

No Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter etc etc etc here.
My cell phone is in an LLC name. My name is not attached to the LLC in any way.

Im not worried about my bank or other such institutions having my financial info, conventional identity theft etc.
I am more concerned with movement tracking, preference tracking, next gen AI etc. Im a pretty boring guy. Cant imagine ever being "wanted". But if I ever am...it will at least be an interesting game of hide and seek.

With 5G coming like you are saying, good luck to anybody that wants to not be tracked. Everything is going to become more connected, and more 'watched'. Hell even some cars they have shown are sending your data all the time.
