I have not been debriefed yet but here's the dish from the B Team.
I led the uncoachable, er, uh, know-it-all, er, uh, group that preferred less coaching/spotting with Rodney Eppes as tail gunner and grnsanddemon as ground support. We had a good mix of rigs from built Toyota truggys to stock Jeeps. The trails were SLICK but not undoable and I personally had a blast!
CORE was represented by a couple of well built TJs. Edgar who was shepherding the Trail Stalkers group did a GREAT job of coaching/spotting/rock stacking for his mod challenged club members while his rig had no problems. The Bragg Boys in a silver TJ on 37s and an Orange Rubicon on 40s ran some nice lines and made a couple of obstacles look easy. Green Cherokee dude hung his rear diff TWICE which resulted in popping his slip yoke rear driveshaft TWICE, second time he replaced that sucker in about 10 minutes! That included dropping a ujoint cap which threw about about 8 bearings into the mud, he found them all cleaned them off, re installed in the cap and slapped the drive shaft in and drove on! Quick work dude! SFGator could have been a contender in his Toyota pickup but he had to cut out early
B Team "Driver Of The Day" award goes to 1BIGAZZBURBN in his propane powerd Toyota truggy. With his 192:1 crawl ratio and Iroks he made most everything he tried look easy from gnarly rock lines to slushy, mushy steep hill climbs. To lock up the award he BACKED up Birthday Cake after crawling up and down it! This is a pretty steep and rocky climb on the East Perimeter Loop at the entrance to Boulder trail. It was first conquered by karatejosh and his group at the 2014 Icebreaker and named Birthday Cake in Josh's honor since the Icebreaker was his birthday! (Since he was first to make the obstacle and has naming rights the name is temporary subject to Josh's OK)
Thanks to everyone who came out for the 30/30! Everything seemed to go very smoothly! I enjoyed seeing all the rigs on the trails and look forward to my next trip to Big Creek!
