Fj Buggy: V8,Rear steer,Toy axles

Like the Progress, You at least got me to remove my Cruiser Spare Front from the who cares give away pile to the, I will keep and maybe just maybe.

You done any axle work yet? I originally was going to take a Taco Rear, and then Weld on some Bells, and then respline some axles... The splines wouldnt be as strong, so scraped it.. Then thought, 60 Center.. Mini Outers..

Call me crazy.. But I like caring 1 spare third, 2 Sets of Longs, Hubs, and Knuckle.. of course on trailer.. But that way I am set front and rear.

But Then again rear steer for me is... Not a Must, but each time I dig... I wonder ummmm

thanks.. No axle work yet but it hopefully will not be long... I am still looking for 1 fj60 front that is close to complete... The third swapability is a nice thought... that is why i am shooting for 9.5's front and rear.. and yes i hope to be carrying a spare 27 spline long and a set of stock inners(both sides) on the trailer...just in case... When i start on axles i will be adding pics..

Looking awesome PJ! That is going to be a fast little buggy.

I sheared all my wheel hub studs (for the drive flange) on the first trip out with my FJ80 front. When I checked out the other side all the studs were bent and ready to fail. Unless your hub is different than mine it won't accept six hardened pins like the normal toy axles do. I went with ARP studs from front range off road and I haven't had another problem since.

Another note, I called bobby long to buy his flange kit and he basically said he didn't want to sell it. He said the trail gear kit was the same thing and he couldn't compete on price so he was removing it from his product line. I see they are back on his website so maybe he's had a change of heart?

I apreciate the insight... but i am using fj60 front. the front axles are basically the same as 8" stuff from the knuckle out, but the ring gear is 9.5" like your rear.. so i will be able to use the trail-gear flange.. thanks though...

Lemme get that other buggy in the last bay! That project is sick man! lookin good!

That buggy will hopefully be for sale very soon... looking at around 2 to 3 months... if everything goes well...

very nice. at the rate you work, i'll be able to wait and see how well the toys work before i make up my mind. i LIKE those wheels, are they homemade?
