Flat Towing with RV/Motorhome...need some input please

holy crap those flat tow breaking systems cost half as much as my whole jeep does LOL...well that's out of the question..looks like sticking back to trailer

You could probably save the $600 and just cut all that stupid pipe and chain off your Jeep.

And get this: It'll wheel better without it. Take that fucking tire off the roof while you're at it.
so a 700lb lighter trailer wouldn't be a huge improvement on the towing?
and without starting a huge debate on this weight topic since this is for towing/rv thread, can you briefly explain the whole "too much weight" is bad in a way I can really understand

You want your Jeep to weigh as little as possible. If you cut 600# of shit off your Jeep, it will weigh the same on the trailer you already own as it would weigh on some new trailer that you'd have to shell out $600 to own.

Whatever weight has to be on your Jeep (spare tire, tools, etc), you want to be as low as possible.

All those stupid shit you built where you just keep adding unnecessary metal to the Jeep and argue that you like it looking stupid, or that you don't care enough about it to do a better job, or that it hasn't broken so it must be strong enough.... all that unnecessary metal adds weight, which makes your Jeep perform less well on the trail and on the road.

It's the Ghost of Christmas Past.

please post up on the board when /where you are rocketing this clusterfuck down the mountain so we can go watch and bet on how far you can separate the front axle of the RV from the spring hangers

i don't get it...why is pulling with this RV such a big deal and so unsafe...ok i get it flat towing without the proper equipment is way more than i thought and not an option anymore so I will continue using my trailer which has all the proper brakes and such so i don't see the danger here besides a slow climb back home (should still be better than this tahoe of mine)
and it's gonna be little while before this RV is road worthy...family vehicles get lots and lots of preventative maintenance done before ever hitting anything further than these back roads here...especially an RV.
