sounds like my day. people just dont understand copiers.

Customer: I have black streaks on my copies
Me: Did you clean the glass?
Customer: yeah, i tried everything. i really need this fixed now
Me: are you sure you checked the glass?
Customer: Yeah.
Me: you realize if i come out to your office and the glass is dirty it will cost you $90.00?
Customer: Yes, please hurry, i need this fixed

5 seconds after being onsite

Me: can i show you where the dirt is on your glass?
Customer: oh...i didnt even look there. wow, do i still have to pay for this?

the worst I get is 40 minutes helping one lady that wants a .40 cent bolt and debating on bringing it back if it does not work because she does not know what size she needs

But i really laughed when the IT guys says ok I rebooted the server then the caller says hey where is my home page something just happened... the IT guy says WHAT you coul see the website?

I fell on the floor laughing because that has happened to me before

I can do you one better...

Customer calls and says everything they copy or scan looks like a giant barcode but it prints great.
I ask them if they are using the doc feeder
They respond "Yes, how else are we going to use this machine"
I tell them to remove the paper from the flat bed glass
They respond "what glass?"
After trying to explain how to lift the doc feeder up they insist I drive two hours to fix it.
I get there and no one is even there, at least they left the door unlocked. I Removed the paper from the glass and left a bill for $440 inc travel.

A week and a half later...Repeated the whole call again with a different tech. I wish I could blow a grand just to be lazy and/or stupid.

but OTOH... that's how the web guy ends up being known as the HELPless desk and next thing you know Apu is answering the phone instead.

Had a guy do that with a sheet of mylar in a laser printer.

Yes, but the contract doesn't cover acts of God, ID10T errors or OHS (operator head space) errors.

And you end up replacing it for free anyway so management doesn't have to deal with it. Another reason I went my own way.

You gotta love how a customer thinks.
