Found this pile in my parking space at work. It was under a mulberry tree and judging by the contents, thats it's primary diet. It's been about 2 years since Ive heard of any local black bear spottings but, it's not in the woods so... Can anyone ID this?

Large mature Coons like to mark their territory, they like to poo on elevated objects to spread their scent around and scare away young coons, on the top of rocks, stumps and logs, and especially on a tree that's fallen across a creek and made a bridge, there's often a pile there where they poop every time they cross it. It was probably claiming the Mulberry tree as it's own.

Sorry man, I just couldn't hold it any longer. Those mulberries were wrecking havoc on my lower intestines. I left you that $20 in hopes that you wouldn't post it on here and embarrass me :)

I just can't believe a coon has 2" diameter turds...

That would be a deer.

*edit* to clumped together to be deer. They're pellet ploppers.

You ever seen a coons asshole??
I have never tried to see how much I could stretch one out... In all seriousness, I've done my fair share of coon hunting but I cant say I've ever seen one with a strict berry diet. I surely have never seen any coon turds this big around. I tried to use the 20 to scale.

set up a camera in the area, or are all the berries "dropped"?;)

Bear shit has beetles, fur, twigs, berry, grape etc. seeds, bells and bits of cloth and blue jeans in it................................................seriously all the bear shit I've seen were HUGE piles as big a a dinner plate, I'm talking pounds and you could smell it all over the woods around it in warm weather. I've never seen any baby bear poop but plenty of coon scat the size in the pic.
