Game cameras...

I need to find out what we bought at work. They use cell data have a pan tilt are solar and link to your phone. I think they were around 300 for a pair and 45 a month.
Think this is it

4G LTE Cellular Security Camera Include SD&SIM Card (Support Verizon AT&T T-Mobile), 2K Solar Outdoor No WiFi Security Camera with 360° Live Video Night Vision Spotlight PIR Motion Sensor Two Way Talk https://a.co/d/7HVmkCY

I have some SPYPOINT cams and have been pleased with them. One thing to consider is reading the tags on a vehicle. I was having an issue with people making themselves at home on my land. Got some good pics of their vehicle but hard to read the tags. Was trying to angle the camera to get good pics of tags, but was still hard to read. Might would be worse at night? But with the cell cam sending pics pretty quickly. I was able to make it to my land when I caught them riding down my road. Had a little talk with them. Hasn’t been an issue since.

Are you just going by the cell pics or have you tried pulling the hd versions off the memory card in the camera?

I put up a Reveal Tactacam to watch our driveway while we are building our house. Cell service is terrible so I put it up high in hopes of getting a little better signal. Didn’t help. Somehow it could consistently send the daily check in pic at 11:35 each night, but it was unreliable at sending pics of cars coming in and out. I don’t blame the camera though, there really is no cell service there.

We pulled the card and tried looking at the pics at higher resolution. I think this was with the SPYPOINT link micro? I bought a SPYPOINT flex this year and it does seem to take a much better pic. Reconyx has a “security cam” which is supposed to be able to do better on the tag reading? I live close enough to my land, that getting that pic, I was able to get over there when I got a pic.

Do the spypoint have an active flash? IE will a night trespasser see the camera flash

The link micro and flex do have a “red blob” flash. I do have a “link dark” which is no flash. The pictures at night on the link dark are not as clear at night. But I like it cause animals don’t pay much attention to it. Something I do sometimes is put the camera at a higher level and just angle down. Out of eye level of the animals. I’ve got a bunch of older cams that don’t work that I put out “in eye view” near gates and such. Kind of like dummy cams. Gets people thinking before trying to come on land

Also add a cheap game camera with a flash as a decoy for them to smash/take. Just put it in view of your good one.

If you have temp power at Constuction site maybe add some motion lights hidden in the bait area?

This way you don’t have to rely on the IR

I’m thinking if house has a garage then can bait in the garage, hide motion lights overhead, where can’t be seen from entry.

Bait camera so they think the smash/steal the camera there

Camera selection is important. But also important is the cost for cellular. Moultrie has what seems to be a reasonable camera at a reasonable price but is $10/month for cheapest option.

Spypoint also seems to have a decent camera and has more affordable options with regards to cell access.

Anyone else have opinions on monthly costs? This camera is mostly for seasonal security, so no annual plans are anticipated, just monthly.

These are what I bought after our 4wheelers were stolen. I don't get enough signal to use my phone on most of our property but these get full bars everywhere. Not cheap at around $550 a piece with the solar kit and metal lock box but they help give me piece of mind.

Yeah the camera is pretty high $$$. But I do like the cost and format of the cell/app services. Unlimited data for as little as $3 per camera per month.
