Gas prices????

Here in Shelby we have a gas station at Ingle's supermarket. If you go inside, get a re-usable gift card, put whatever dollar amount on it you want, then their gas is $3.03 cheaper. Filled up a couple of days ago there. Advertised price was 2.25 and I got it for 2.22. May not sound like much, but here it's a lot.

Yep, just bought a truck and got gas mainly because the prices of gas fell while the Desiel is still rising. (2004 F-150 SuperCrew)

Yeah, great idea.

If that's all the truck you want/need, then fine. But you're comparing a 1/2 ton to a 3/4-1 ton.. Compare apples to apples, you'd need a worked 8.1 Chevy or 8L Dodge V-10 to make the same HP, and a supercharger to make the same torque, as a mildly modified diesel. I still get ~17mpg driving the worst possible configuration of truck.. a SC'd V-10 gets around 6-7.

Hell, I *could* tow my junk with a 1/2 ton, but I'd just hate driving it every day more than I hate driving the 1-ton.

saw it for 2.17 today in raleigh. it is goin down pretty fast. hopefully this isnt too good to be true.

1.91 in G-vegas

Wow.

I think what's gettin' me now is the huge variance there is around everywhere right now. Normally within whoel region of the state, most places are within a 10-cent range or so, within a city probably cloer to 5 cents. But right now we're talkin 20 cents easy within 2-3 mile distances.
Yesterday we missed out on $1.50 just by waiting too long to fill up the Saturn and had to stop at the nearest place.

there are places in Charlotte that it's a $.20/gallon difference for diesel...within a mile of each other...where both stations are the same brand (yes, I know most are locally owned/operated)...

luckily, the cheapest I've found, is 1/4 mile from my house...:D

The wife and I went to the outerbanks this weekend for some fun in the sun and found a place on 264 in the middle of nowhere for $1.80. It was a very small place "1 pump in front of shack" kind of thing. I don't think he knew what people where charging 20 miles up the road. Seams funny he can charge so little when he probably orders a fraction of what the larger stations order. My tank was already full from paying 2.21 in Duck. It was 2.64 in Hatteras. My Truck was still getting about 21 mpg too.

...just a FYI...SNIPPED all the political stuff out so I could leave a nice clean thread here with gas prices, etc.

Too many folks to PM you "why" I moved yourself, but basically, their are two opinions, etc...and as a board we decided this was not the time/place.

[Will snip FUTURE posts as well...]
