Its bad but kinda funny too, people walking around w the ass of their pants burnt off.Karma
or don't take shit that don't belong to you.I'm guessing they dont teach stop, drop, and roll in Mexico?
So with that said do you think people will continue to do it??I have troubling imagining a worse way to die. I cannot comprehend what would make someone be involved in this, I just don't have the perspective to understand. Yesterday it was 66 dead. Today they are saying 85+
Death toll climbs to at least 85 in Mexico fuel pipeline explosion
I'm kinda surprised how cavalier of an attitude you guys have about this.
Yep. Clearly they are (at least somewhat) ignorant of the consequences, and in a very desperate situation with a corrupt government and corrupt industries. I'll be the first to say things are corrupt in the US, but it's nothing compared to Mexico and most other third world countries. @Ron and I have talked about this quite a bit, but these people didn't choose to be born in Mexico. They are stuck in a tough life with little or no education and little or no opportunity to better their situation, so they do things that seem foolish and desperate to us first worlders. So with that said do you think people will continue to do it??

I agree its a TERRIBLE way to die and I would hate to go that way but I don't have much sympathy for a thief.Ive had too much taken from me.I'm kinda surprised how cavalier of an attitude you guys have about this.
My mother has done lots of mission work in the African continent. Its much like you described. Pretty much kids doin errand work for anything. Little education and desperation for basic goods.I don't know what to make of this.
I mean, it's horrific and tragic, and apparently a lot of kids died. I can't imagine what an awful, gruesome scene that was. The stuff nightmares are made of.
Then you see the "day of" footage, with the gas spewing everywhere, and lots of people running around in it with plastic jugs or whatever they happen to have, and think, WTF are these people thinking, getting gas all over themselves, don't they know how toxic and dangerous that stuff is...
And then of course, it IS theft, and apparently is a HUGE problem is Mexico right now, in fact so bad the President recently moved to changed back to trucking gas instead of some pipelines just to cut down on thievery.
On some hard-assed level I feel like people get what they deserve for theft, but damn, that's harsh, and from what I've read there were a lot of kids who were there just b/c their village elders told them it was the thing to do b/c the government was corrupt anyway and it was needed to survive, and with gas so hard to get already in an area that is dirt poor... it's hard to not feel bad for them.
That’s the damn truth! Scary thought if you really consider the possibilities...I probably shouldnt take this tread in this direction and honestly wont be suprised if it gets deleted.....
But, these would seem to be the same people, who the American people are convinced a wall will keep out.
If these people will do something this reckless for a few gallons of gasoline, imagine what they would endure and overcome for a life of "freedom " and "prosperity" in America.............
For the derail....cause I kinda see the supporting side of this horrific scene.I probably shouldnt take this tread in this direction and honestly wont be suprised if it gets deleted.....

A lot of those folks walking will die. I agree. I helped a walking breathing man enter a ambulance. He died less than 24 hours latter. Was only a small brush fire that he passed out in and the grass burned over him. Lost a lot of cloths by .supertficial appearance. There will be a lot more of them die before it is over infection will kill a bunch more. I have seen someone on fire from head to toe it is not something you want to witness in person and if it is someone close to you. I put him out and he spent almost 2 years in the hospital He was burnt over 95 % of his body and had less than 2 % chance making it 48 hours. He does good today works every day now cant be in the sun long he cant sweat now and will over heat on hot days. Gas burns are the worst burn you can get it gets deep in your skin fast and does major damage. I feel for the people in that fire down there right or wrong.
