Many of those folks don't stand a chance. Its only shock and adrenalin making them move on.

When I was in HS dad pulled a guy out of a burning house one morning on his way to work.Dude was burnt but alive when dad got him out.He died waiting on the ambulance.Dad never talked about it much but I think he was pretty bothered by that.

This is same thinking that the "wall" is just a barrier?

Has it ever occurred it would be simply a better tool to deter illegal activity. Not stop it all together, but maybe just maybe encourage stream lining or better manging legal immigration. Seems that bettering a border would allow us to focus more on allowing legal passage as opposed to focusing so much on damage control.

Just to play the devil's advocate.....

Have you ever looked at the requirements to become a legal resident of this country?

I have.

I spent 8 years trying to help a coworker become legal in this country. He was brought here as a child, and had spent tens of thousands of dollars trying to become "legal".

The poor, uneducated people the wall is supposed to keep out, and funnel their imagination into the legal channels, also subjects them to being able to pass a written test that none of them have a hope to overcome.

I have 8.5 years of college eduction, take it as you want, and I could never pass the written test these uneducated people are expected to pass to become an American citizen.

Just saying.......

Never said the system was perfect. Re read the last part. With less damage control we could focus more on stuff like your talking about.
But my biggest gripe....illegal entry is still illegal. Fix that broken mess first.

You are correct, and what I am saying is roughly the same.

Illegal entry is still illegal.

But so is speeding, can you promise you wont break any laws tomorrow?

I have seen 4 badly burned or burned up people in my life. One cooked so much the flesh split open all the way to bone. That did not bother me at all.

What still gives me the shivers today is visiting a friend that was burned, third degree on legs, neck, face. Several months in the burn center. While we were there, they came to get him for yet another debridement session (process where they scrape away the dead skin and stuff). The look in his eyes....

Every naturalized citizen I know knows waaaay more about US history and civil law than most other citizens I know.
 
So I must say before anyone says anything besides "I am sorry for the documented footage of people being burned alive" maybe you need to spend some time on a hospital burn unit. Stealing is wrong, period, but when you watch a video showing actual footage of people burning alive, and your first thought is "serves them right", I can't relate.
 
It completely blows my mind that people would stand around in a shower of gasoline! People drilled into the pipe 12,581 times in 10 months!!!

I don’t think anyone here would say that isn’t a terrible way to die. I also don’t think any of those people didn’t know the smelly fluid they were wrongfully taking was extremely flammable. You can only be so stupid until it comes back to bite you in the ass, or in this case set your ass on fire. Yes it was a terrible thing that happened but who here watched the video and didn’t see that coming?
