Gear Head Squaretable TV show

I'm not saying I could make a show but if a couple of you guys want to sit down at a table and drink beer with me we could probably come up with some good content.

I’ll throw $20 at production costs.

just get a small production crew to follow @Jody Treadway and crew around during wheeling trips and you’ll have wheeling, wrenching, beer drinking, and weding crashes all in one episode. :)

I was watching it with my daughter, who was asking all about Jody’s truck up till that dude started dropping F bombs like crazy lol.

I think we could def make a show between the guys on here and it be very interesting. I actually just read that wedding crashing story for the first time the other night, hilarious. Stories like that around a table or fire mixed with a few shots of some rev limiter action would be awesome. When do we start? I’m ready to tune in.

There is a fine line. Youre either making a garage video for adults only, or your trying to make a tv show. If a camera had been on that night, it certainly would not have been kid friendly. Too much dildo action between @McCracken and @Loganwayne that night lol.

In all seriousness. For a private group liek this forum, everyone could have a good laugh watching some close nit people make cracks at each other and do camp fire talk. We all work and we all have families and more than likely a handful of hobbies already. It would either be a slow burn that peters out, or a quick flame that lasts 2 or 3 videos? If we were to do this I would propose it should eventually be able to stand on its own financially - saying that I believe talk shows will only get you so far. Look at alot of the motortrend guys on their private channels. Check out their "talk" episodes versus the episodes where they "DO" things. Viewer ratings go way up.

Just immediately thinking about it, if you were to do 4 videos or so a year, have them centered around wheeling trips with lots of video coverage, and each could be combined with some talk show stuff - but I think those would have bigger hits and have the best potential for reaching 500k plus in viewers and start making ad money. You could even incorporate some "knowledge" and teaching into the trail video segments. Youd target all the keywords regarding each rig and the trail. The humor would keep the viewer hooked and watching. Etc. 5 videos a month does you no good if youre only getting a few hundred to a few thousand viewers.

Start small and let each video be a "big" drop. The views will accrue, and eventually subcribers will justify more frequent videos and "paid" wheeling trips as the videos pay for it all

I'm an adult....sometimes.... but when the guys started dropping MFs and F-bombs left and right I could tell it wasn't going to be too good. You know why I think the original Anchorman was so popular? Because 90% of the movie didn't cuss but just had funny as hell jokes. The second one sucked because they leaned too heavy on language to deliver punch lines and it failed. I'm not saying I won't drop a cuss word or two but it won't be that bad.

Secondly, I'm not overthinking this. Put me at a location with a couple friends and I'll drink beer. I'll have a loose schedule of topics and the rest is internet history.

I wouldn’t expect a show from this crowd to be “kid friendly” exactly. I was just watching, she looked over my shoulder and got interested. My boy is 2 and learning to talk, he won’t say what we tell him to but he’ll repeat words like that clear as day, all day with my luck lol.
If a show did take off I would be tuning in without the kiddos around.

Shoot I would be on an episode of the show, probably the butt end of jokes about trying to take my XJ where 1 to rigs go like I’ve been known to do (with success might I add)

I say we do it, if for nothing but a quarterly NC4x4 show for our own entertainment. It doesn’t have to be all out professional.

camera quality and time/effort in the editing really pays off. even if for pure aesthetics. I think it would be really cool for us to do. Start small and see where it goes.

I do throw out some "language" from time to time...really trying to reign this in. Over use of cursing seems like a bad choice of filler or personality. I watched a portion of the vid and quickly got bored. Didn't make it to the cursing I guess. The problem is to be genuine and interesting you need some pre-planning. Scripting however leads to a lot of crap too! That perfect balance is what I remember from the original BBC Top Gear. Brittish TV in general uses more wit and intelligence. Seems us Stateside folk in all TV entertainment go for either high vulgarity in several forms, special effects, or explosions. Bring back intelligence. Problem is we (as a country)don't have a largely intelligent market. As for NC4x4, an over all intelligence and call it mature understanding of a lot of topics is why I keep coming back.....are we BRITTS??

Table/shop discussion could be done with the good cameras and audio. We could edit in cell phone video of rev limiter trail action and discuss it, make fun of it, etc.

Maybe similar to ridiculousness?

Maybe instead of scripts, just have key points to talk about to keep things on track.

I’m not sensitive to foul language, used to have a bad mouth myself. I’m in construction so I’m around it daily. But it does turn me off and I don’t care for it. Just sounds bad. It is very possible to be funny, and get your point across without it.
So when does this show start? Highlighting interesting trail repairs and also sharing tips/tricks for unique trail repairs would be cool. I’ve seen and done a lot of crazy stuff that somehow worked.
