going to Russia

Not sure but I think Chuck wants/needs you to bring him some vodka back!!!

AS was said before carry your wallet in you front pocket.

but I would also carry you big money and Id separate. if you were to get robbed you can give them the wallet and not loose all of your money and Id.

Make sure you know where the US embasy is and how to get there.

I had a friend that went to Moscow last year and he got jumped getting into a cab. He was with a local girl there that he knew. Just pay attention and don't do anything stupid.

try not to be a hippie there weird about that over there.....
how long you going to be gone does that new g/f of yours need anything while your gone:rolleyes:
which one:flipoff2:

Stories from a friend that married a Russian woman, she left, and he went back for more.......damn fool.

He says the men will fight you in a heart beat.....

Don't drive over there....

Ditto regarding not being alone....

Ditto telling the Embassy you are there and where....

Ditto with wallet in front pocket or inside your pants....

I always carry a cane when in a foreign country and use it to walk...you can beat the shit out of a thug with one. If not a cane, carry a stout umbrella for same reason.

Get your business done and get out. Leave the girls alone!

Carry Cipro antibiotics, from your doctor, to save your a$$ from some really bad food or water.....if you do nothing else, do this!

Put your passport and all important documents and numbers on a thumb drive should you loose something! Do this second.

Good luck....scary as hell in those far away places....you will be relieved and no longer puckered when you get back and pass through customs...

I am going to buy a cane tommorow good idea

hahaha, jeff i gotta see a picture of you walking around with a cane.....;...oh yea, when you gettin back...dad needs that other trailer axle welded up....blew a tire on the way to ga today

I can do this for ya on tuesday next week after work pm me for details.

do sample the local girls :huggy: but do not contribute to the worldwide sex trade of underage girls

take lots of pictures

do not eat anywhere that is familiar or that you have seen before or somewhere that you can find in the US, you are missing alot if you just look for familiarity

again, ditto on the embassy, wallet in front pocket, etc

if you are going to be there for more than a couple days, find a large bank, go get a safety deposit box and keep your valuables in there

as with the food, dont look to do the "normal" things, as you would do if you were still at home, find cultural experiences that you will remember for years

above all....dont act like a jackass american, the last thing we need is more people hating this country because of the shitty behavior of our citizens while in other countries...plus it might get yo ass kilt!

I will have a box of magums with me for sure. Underage---hell no!

Never been to Russia but have been to China, Taiwan, and have spent alot of time in Mexico (border towns). In Mexico, I never show the local cops my passport or my license. They'll take it and tell you, you need to go to the police station to work it out. I only carry as much cash as I think I need. The rest is in the hotel safe. I only carry one credit card and it is in an inside pocket or my sock. I carry a business card holder in my front pocket. One side has a copy of my license and the other has a $20 bill. If I ever get pulled over, I ask if we can settle it on the spot and let them see the $20. That usually takes care of things.

Make a copy of your license and your passport. Keep one in a safe spot that you have access to, and give the other copy to someone you trust back home.

Get a small pocket notepad (something you can carry in your pocket and write down all important phone numbers and addresses including the business contact you are going to visit. Write down all cell phone numbers, home numbers, and business numbers you may need. Get the phone number and address of the American Embassy and the closest American Consulate. Usually, there is an American Consulate in most major cities in a country. Register on line with the Department of state at http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/registration/registration_1186.html. Enter all your travel info and they'll have a record of your travel.

Don't be paranoid but be smart. Pay attention to your surroundings and enjoy yourself. I've heard Moscow is a beautiful city. Take plenty of pictures, learn about the local culture, don't eat anything your not comfortable eating, and have fun. Not too many people get to enjoy another part of the world on the company's dime. Enjoy it.

Just got my shots for the trip I feel like a f@#ken pin cushion:poop:

I travelled for the first time this past summer. I was in Singapore, Indonesia, and India.

Don't drink from the tap.

Learn some local phrases (important things + funny stuff). There are lots of phrase books and translation dictionaries available for most major languages. Being able to greet someone in their native language goes a long way. The ladies love it!

Try all the new food you can! Just be careful and use common sense if sanitation looks to be a problem.

Be a good example of America! Most of the rest of the world hates the US just because, but if they meet a genuinely good and well-meaning person, it can change their perceptions.

Convertors and adapters come in very handy. Get a multi-national one so you'll be good no matter where you are.

I bought a skype account and a pre-paid cell when I was gone. Elsewhere in the world, it's more common for you to only pay for outgoing calls and texts, and incoming are free. You can have skype forward your calls to your pre-paid. You can also make your skype number local (your same area code) so your family can call you toll free.

You got your shots, so good job there. Like it's been said, carry some antibiotics and any other medications you think will come in handy (tums, immodium, etc).

I made a few copies of my passport and hid them in my luggage and on my person. I didn't want to end up without it at any point when I'd need to get the fawk out for some reason.

Ya I was told also to get some good mosquito repelent with deet for all those critters

I won't forget I'm gonna bring back all I can

The Black berry that Governemnt has can be turned on and used in most other countries Except Japan. They have their own type of Crystals and stuff. Might be worth looking into as a business expense

It's probablly because I got me a new girl over there:huggy:
