Gov't Bail out

Considering how many of "us" are still forwarding the "We Deserve It Dividend," I don't want Congress or anybody else listening to "us" on monetary policy, period.

People like "us" panic and run to withdraw our deposits at banks like WaMu and get them seized and sold off. People like "us" hear gas is running out and rush to the stations to fill up every tank, milk jug, paint bucket and piss pot we can, and then "we" say "told ya so" when there's no more gas.

This is not a good time for Washington to listen to "us."

'Dis guy...
"dis guy, ya know he not so stoopid...
You shoulds listen to 'dis guy...he uhhhhh has a point ya know.

The $2400 is about right, when you divide 700 billion by 300 million.

Yeah but there are 4 people in my house.
Only 1 pays taxes.
D'Oh Im screwed.
I just got hit up for 10k additional.

As I said in the other thread: 700billion is $2333 per US citizen and $7000 per US TAXPAYING citizen based on figures from a year or two ago.
Thats with 300million citizens (actual figure 301million) and 100Million taxpaying citizens (actual figure 99,980,xxx).

And, of course, the top 1% of earners (people with incomes over $350,000 a year) pay 40% of all collected income taxes -- more than the bottom 90% of earners.

Rich dudes really pick up the slack in this country, despite what that adorable mentally-handicapped man Joe Biden says.

 I'm getting pissed at this! My 29 yo daughter in NY banked with WMU that went under. Not sure about her savings with them yet and the CEO gets $119 million? WTF? I'm thinking some armed resistance might make these guys think twice about ripping off innocent people! A few of them start disappearing and they might think about another line of work

Don't worry. Nancy Pelosi saved us all a bunch of money. she was really proud to announce that they got the number down considerably! i think they got it all the way down to 634 billion.

in case you missed it....there was some sarcasm in there.

634 bil is for the regular budget, bailout is another 700 bil.

Looks like Citigroup and Wachovia are on the hit list too.
If you still see this as "their" problem - you're an idiot.

I see it as both our problems but I don't think teh Execs should walk away with hundreds of millions in teh process!

Well, the (only?) good news is that the package being put forth sets a cap on that, for just that reason, at least for companies that accept 100% buyout.

you can say that again.

????

I really think we are about to find out what GREED can do.

I find it hard to believe more credit is the answer to a hole we've gotten ourselves into by giving out too much easy credit. Then again, maybe it's like a debt consolidation loan. LOL

I don't pretend to understand exactly what's going on. I do go by basic principles and I trust Ron Paul :
