If the sonofabitch really claimed he had a bomb and reached for something when he was told to freeze, I say, "GO AIR MARSHALS!!" I fly all the time for work and strangely, this kinda makes me feel better; that Air Marshals have such a presence and that they act quickly.

And am I going to hell b/c I read this article, then thought of that scene in "Meet the Parents" then laughed?? "Bomb bomb bomb bom-bom-ba-bomb"

yeah like i said on pirate, i applaud the air marshells for their quick response and anyone who screams bomb on an airplane should be shot in the knee and then beat to death for being a damn moron and scaring people like that.

I hope not, b/c everybody I've talked to about this, has said the EXACT same thing.... "reminds me of Mett he Parents"..."Didn't this guy see Meet the Parents?" and so on.

And, yep, it DOES make me feel better. I feel bad for the guy and his family but hey, that how the world is today.
Here is a pretty good example of evolution in action.

I also applaud the air marshals for a fast response. That makes me feel a little safer when i fly.

If he was bi-polar, and supposed to be on meds for it, and MARRIED, why wasn't the wife making damn sure he was ON his meds? If she had, he'd still be alive now, because he wouldn't have jumped up and started yelling BOMB in the first place.

Bingo

No excuses...PERIOD

The really SAD part:

Upon investigation, there was no evidence that Alpizar had a bomb, an official said.
So the guy died because he didn't take a couple damn pills.

Yeah kinda sad, but something as security-intensive as air travel, it's his responsibility to keep himself and his disorder under control for the safety of himself as well as everyone else. Plus, I'm pretty sure bi-polar disorder isn't like schizofrenia, he still has control over his actions and is consciously aware of what he's doing.

If he had control over himself, would he have done something as absolutely stupid as run around an airplane yelling about bombs? Especially knowing he didn't REALLY have one?

What a dumbass. I'm glad they shot him. Maybe the next jerk will think about it first.

There won't be a next time for that crazy man because he is DEAD!!!!! Feel sort of bad and good for his wife now though because her life will be much different without him around.:(

PS. GO MARSHALS!!!!!!!!:uzi:

I dunno, I understand what you mean though. And I don't know a lot about bi-polar disorder, but I just meant that I thought bi-polar disorder doesn't affect one's ability for cognitive thought, meaning he realized what he was saying. He wasn't delusional or aything like that. His reasoning for saying it... I haven't the foggiest, but then again, I never underestimate the stupidity or "crazyness" (technical term:D ) of people.

I'm no psychologist, and I admittedly don't know much about bi-polar disorder, so I'm just speculating, and don't mind being corrected. I just forsee this story being spun by the media into: "handicapped man gunned down by trigger happy air marshals." That would really piss me off!
