H1 Hummer - A Slow Build

I changed the oil in the differentials and in the portal boxes. I also put in a quick connect for the compressed air system. Now I can use a remote air hose.

Getting ready to go to the lake...

Firetoy, those are the newer ones with automatic transmissions, right? I've always wanted to get an older 5-ton and swap in a 6BT.

I rode in this thing this past weekend, super nice. Even has a custom pin stripe now!!

No pinstripe... A little elbow grease and the stripe magically disappeared!

Yeah they have 8.3 Cummins with Alison auto.

Is the drivetrain set so far back that the trans hump in the back seat area is the trans? Seems that the bucket seats in the back with the hump between the seats so big, that it would be cumbersome?

Been looking for another toy and looked at H1s but can't get past the lack of seat space or layout as it seems less than ideal... ???

The transmission and transfer case sit directly between the seats. Everything is tucked up high to give a completely smooth bottom. This is why the huge center hump is present.

I've made an 18 hour trip and two nine hour trips in the Hummer. It is fairly comfortable to ride in. The seats are not bad, but the engine hump sticks a little close to the driver's right calf. This gets a little annoying, but t is not that bad. Other than that, the truck is comfortable. Even my wife said that it was pretty comfortable. Her only complaint is that the tires are so noisy.

Man that thing is good looking- Ive always wanted one.

Yes I'd say that was his...specs are the same except for the tires and awesome black hood with hood pins...it don't look as good as before. That thing has made it up and down the east cost.

Same owner from NY. He moved to FL and switched to boggers because he figured they would be better for the beach/mud.

There is a guy in Hickory wanting to sell some polished H1 wheels. They have CITS but do not appear to be beadlocks. Just thought about you if u are interested hit me up

Did he sell it or not? The Ebay link does not work.

I was watching it and then it disappeared. He either cut a behind the scenes deal or decided not to sell. Either way I can't find it on EBAY either

How much did he have it listed for?

He had the bids starting low. I think it was up to around 2k with about 5 days left till the auction end
