I'm curious if any of you are ham operators part of a radio group or know any such people in WNC, specifically in the Lenoir/Morganton/Old Fort area.

I am working with a local charity to host a fundraiser gravel bike ride in October, and would love to get some Ham operators to volunteer at the food/water stations along the route (there are two) and have another at base camp with me so we have reliable comms back and forth in case of emergency.

It's a long shot, but thought this would be the place to identify it if it's possible. Let me know!

Alternatively, would love for any of you bike riders to join in on the fun either as riders, sponsors if you have a business to advertise, or volunteers (I also need SAG support).

here is a site for a Lenoir club.

Im in the foothills. Joel, K1JSJ. I hang out on the 146.820 WB4PZA repeater ant the 145.430 K4ITL repeater. We arent an official club (yet?), but it a good group of folks like to eat good food and play radio. See my thread linked above for my setups.
