I am looking into buying a helmet for off roading in my jeep. What I have found online is overwhelming. Looking for recommendations and why you like that helmet.

Thanks.

I have a skate board helment that is comfy that I have worn before.

Are you looking for full facemask, or just the turtle shell?

I don't think I want a full face mask. I like the looks of the Axel helmets, but I may be needing a DOT or Snell approved helmet for an upcoming event.

I forgot to call today, give me a buzz anytime during the day tomorrow.

My dirtbike helmets are DOT and SNELL approved. Also have an Arai full face and a few Shoei full face street. They're $700+ range.

You don't want to go that route.

Check out Denniskirk for some deals on last season's helmets in the price range you want

I have dirtbike and streetbike helmets, as well as full face and half shell bicycle helmets. Of all of them, my favorite is the Met Parachute that I wear every time I ride my mountain bike (even today in 94 degrees and a billion percent humidity). It is almost as light as a half shell, extremely well ventilated, super comfortable, and has great visibility. Its also not as bulky as motorcycle helmets and comes with a cool mesh bag so you can impress your friends...

I like the skater helmets my family and I wear. Its light weight and I think it would do fine against a roll bar.
It just depends on how crazy you get.
When you roll and hit your face people will start saying you need to wear a full face. SMH

You see the pics of Ol Jeeps noggin from Harlan? That's motivation for a helmet!

The issue will be SNELL and DOT approval.

These skake/MTB helmets are cool as hell, but if they don't pass SNELL or DOT and that's a requirement....he'll be sitting on the sidelines WATCHING in a cool ass helmet like a toddler in their potato-head shaper helmet

Where are you going that requires SNELL/DOT?
What ^ said...I only wheel online these days, but AFAIK almost nowhere requires helmets unless its a competition.

Good info. I currently have a bike helmet in my jeep.

Yeah a high speed competition would be a different story for sure.
