Help Identifying an old car?? Something from the 30s

I am trying to help my father identify the car in this picture. I believe it is from the early 30s, first guess was a packard, it appears to be something nice.
If anyone has any ideas, let me know. Thanks -Tim

hood orinament says Cadilac, but huge headlights got me thinking maybe Essex / Terraplane (pre30s) (pre Hudson --> AMC lineage) looks cool !!!

No, I am not trying to buy it, my father was just curious as to what it is. He believes the boy in the picture is his father or grandfather.

It looks like a Hudsen Terraplane, my father in law had one in his barn, used to race them way back. But it's hard to tell from that picture.

Maybe focusing on the hood ornament will help? Is that a swan or some kind of bird?
