I recently bought a highly modified CJ5. It is titled as 1958 so I bought a 1955-71 hood and found out it's about 4" short. That means I need a 1972-86 hood. I wonder if the tub really is 1958. Tag the CJ jeep expert for me. It's got an external wiper motor. The Jeep logo on the sides is very well stamped.

Does it look like the gas tank was originally under the front drivers seat? If it was there would be a hole in the side for a filler cap

There's not one there now for sure. It kind of looks like there may have been one there and it has been patched. There is a large storage area under the passenger seat.

The raised up lid looking area on the cowlpanel and the fact there is a storage area under the pasinger seat looks like 58. But steering column and pedals and fram looks like it is from a 70s model jeep

On the driver's side on the cowlpanel is there a small rectangle that is cast in the metal? Probably about 2in by 3in. If that is there than that body is most likely a 58

Omix list the Glass as 68-75 & 76-86. Not showing anything older. Wonder how long the 2 piece glass ran?
I would think the NC Vin #, is a replacement for a lost title, or a salvage build.
