Guy is wanting to trade for my camper. He wants to trade me a custom hot rod t bucket. It's a 31 Ford with Chevy running gears. New Chevy 350 with trans. I have no idea what these things are worth?

Let's back up and know what you think the campers worth and how much you use it.

Although neat id probably drive that less then a motorcycle in similar weather......

But I rode all year round rain or shine.

I've got the camper listed for $13,500. We haven't used it all year. My PTSD has kicked my ass.

I'm not sure. I'll ask

And just how big a boy are ya? T buckets are hell for anyone above about 5’8” or so. Cousin has one I always wanted until I had the chance to drive it. I’m 6’3” and could not even sit behind the wheel so I had to drive it from the center. If it’s a original steel body with stockish engine I’d say about $7500.

I'm 6'1, fiberglass body.

I'm sorry to here you haven't or can't use the camper.....mine keeps me sane. Relaxing cooking and all the related.

If you'd even except near 10k for the camper i'd say no.
T buckets seem to have a finicky nitch. No way i'd invest that to resell or other wise.

Now a real nice 32 roadster with some handling we'd be interested. T buckets just don't look like they would handle very well. If im going to own a v8 anything hotrod it better be capable of holding a corner.

Right off the quality I see in the TBucket isn't top notch.

And that's why I ask you guys!

I'm no expert but a TBucket reminds me of a cheap bar hopping bobber bike.

The good ones have loads of character and layers of cool built in mechanical art.....this one's sorta blah!

I’d tell the guy the T bucket and $10k as the resale on it would probably bring about $5k and take some time to get that.
Thank you, I don't know squat about these cars

How is your back? T-buckets tend to ride like garbage without A LOT of money invested (that one doesn't appear to have a lot invested, see list below) I have built t-buckets before for customers, I wouldn't trade anything for one unless it was a ridiculous deal. 90% of the ones I have seen or worked on, the build quality is sub-par and trying to find a buyer is very difficult.

From the pics I see:
9" rear, not quick-change
Transverse front and rear leaf springs ( ride like crap)
Looks to be old school friction shocks (crap and require adjustment)
Manual drum brakes (crap)
Cheap wood trim
Questionable steering column setup
Upholstery issues
The build is dated, been done quite a while it looks like

I vote hard pass

Lets think about this differently.
It's a trade.
Do you want it more, or less, than your trailer? :D
Really, that's all that matters. "Value" is up to you.

I was looking to flip it, not that I really want it.

I'd say that thing is probably worth about $6k tops. Probably more around $5kish. I honestly wouldn't pay more than $4500 but I'm a cheap ass. With a fiberglass body it cuts the value a lot, and it looks like an older build and not one that had a lot of thought put into it when it was built to begin with.

One thing I've learned: most trades in my experience result in loss of what you would have sold something for , otherwise why would they want to trade if they could sell and get more out of it?
while this is true, it's also often b/c it's just faster to do a direct trade than to try and sell something first.
