High(er) efficiency windows

They make window and door spray foam that doesn't push as hard when it swells to prevent this.

It says "Window and Door" on the can. That's how you know it's the right one. ;)

But vinyl jambs have very little structural integrity.
 
I used to work for Pella in Greensboro and have replaced all the windows in my house with Pella products of one sort or another. All of the casement (crank out) windows and my sliding glass door are the Designer Series with blinds between the glass. Most are triple pane with a layer of insulated glass (two glass panels with argon in between) and a clip in additional panel. The rest of the house has the Thermastar by Pella replacement windows from Lowes. I'm actually more impressed by them than I am of the Designer series stuff, even if the cost were the same. I think they actually insulate better than the triple pane stuff. I installed all of them myself including the new construction casements and doors.
