High school diploma

You can go to a community college and get into the Adult High School program.
Online classes, work at you pace, and when you are done, a bona fide diploma from the school board and the comm. college county. The same as the other diploma.
I know this because this is what my wife does for FTCC in Winston Salem.
For all intents and purposes....a GED is as good as a diploma in MOST ( absolutely NOT all ) situations.
The Navy claims they won't take a GED.
Some employers pass over GEDs ( just stating facts ). I would guess that number is rapidly dropping. There are lots of out of work people with diplomas and degrees.
A lot of colleges accept them , just as many don't.

You DO want to get a diploma, you should stay in school tho' and finish the right way.

I may get flamed ... I just want you to know the truth.

.... long pause here .... getting facts from my wife ......

New military policy.... with a bad economy, many people are trying to join for a steady job .... no one without a diploma is accepted.

Not all community colleges offer this, FTCC may be the only one. But it could be done there from Clayton.

If all else fails, call FTCC and ask for the Adult HS Ed. office.

My advice tho' , Man up and finish high school.

Why? I hate work more than I ever hated school, but I still hafta do it!

Matt

btw- PM if ya want. I just don't won't you ( or anyone else ) to look back and say ...if only......

a diploma is never a regret. stick it out, it will help you in life, knowing you will prevail even if the man is keeping you down:fuck-you:

Yeah, I would stay in school if I were you. I got my ged after dropping out of school. And now I am in college. So don't give up man.

hey, its chris.

I was in a meeting when you called today. You left a message, but didnt leave a number. the county doesnt spend extra money with cell phone extras like caller ID....

give me another call...if you dont get me, leave a number and Ill call you back.

I had the same promblem as you did when I moved from va to cali my senior year, So I went with the adult high school. It was at your own pace, at day or night. It was a really easy way to do it and it only took me 3 months to graduate from it, but I only needed 3 credits. I would get the H.S. diploma, because if your serious about joining the army.

I missed the part about you wanting to join the army. You'll definitely need a diploma.
There is no where you can just take a test and get a diploma. You have to have the credits to graduate.

yea so i had a meeting with tinman today and were going to try and get me into middle college i hope that works out if not then i guess ill just have to try hard and stick it out in high school

Cool call away and we will see what we can do about that locker. That works out because Im putting axle seals on the TJ today.

I dropped out my sophmore year because my now ex-girlfriend and I had a little surprise in the form of a little girl. I got my ged within a month of leaving high school. It was the easiest thing ever. The place I got mine through was 4, 3-hour days. So after 12 hours of ridiculously easy workbooks, I took my test. I just don't understand why me, a 16 year old (at the time) had no trouble and passed with flying colors but there were 30-40 year olds having problems passing.

I don't regret it a single bit either, all my classmates are seniors this year and they've all got their heads so far up their asses that you can see their eyes peeking at you when they open their mouths.
