Ill do some investigating and take some pics. I am new to adding freon to my Truck.... Mixing freon will what? Cause a bad explosion? Get me extremely high in the cab? Not make my AC get cold?
 
yeah rat lab guy is right i totally forgot about not being able to mix the 2. you could take it to a garage and they can pull the existing stuff out and flush the system for you. I would prolly just have them charge it then instead of buying a gauge unless you plan on doing it more in the future.

Just be ready to pay through the nose for this... esp right now.
And if you go this route, go to a good ol' buddy's shop, otehrwiset hey wil ltry and convince you that you can't just evacuate it and add new stuff, but need to change ALL teh fittings, the receiver/dryer, etc etc... to the tune of several hundred $$.
The old refridgerant (r12) is bad for you and the environment (why it was phased out) so they can't just release it, it has to be captured/contained.

Now if the Chee is low on freon, you have to ask yourslef - where did it go? You probably have a leak... just charging it up is a stop-gap band-aid.
 
Nothing like comming home from 2 hours riding in the jeep (with no ac) to see your indoor dog outside covered in layers of mud. looks like I had to spend a little more time in the heat (at least I had water though)
 
X2. There will be a sticker either on the underside of the hood or on the radiator support stating whether it is 12 or 134.

Why doesn't your jeep have ac?
 
i got a good feeling we are gonna have either another winter like we did this past year wich wasn't terrible but it still wasn't really cold, or were gonna get hammered with like 3 feet of snow that is what i am hopeing we get. i have been in the south all my life and love the hell out of some snow. not to mention that it will make hunting season a little more fun.

Where I work it is wide open. What ever temp is is outside is what it is on the inside plus a few degrees. A few of us thought we seen the devil outside eating ice cream last Friday!
