How are you preparing for the snow?

The backup heating system in the basement has a full tank of fuel. I started, and ran, the generator just before the last one that crippled Atlanta. There's 5 gallons of gas in the generator, 10 more gallons in cans in the garage, and 10 more that can easily be siphoned out of the mower. The freezer is full, and we always have plenty of canned goods on hand. Last but not least, Lil-Red is sitting in the garage with a full tank of gas. Let 'er snow!!! :)

I got beer and fire ball, 4 gallons of race gas for my dirt bike and and filled up the 250 toyota has about 16-17 gallons in it

Have you tried the angry orchard crisp apple with a shot or two of fireball? Tastes like apple cider....MMMmmmm

All this talk about how much gasoline you guys have only makes me think of Mad Max.

"I'm just here for the gasoline"

It sounds like the end of the world. But aside from school being cancelled tomorrow I'll just spend the day in the shop

I mowed my yard all in one direction to throw all the clippings and leaves out into the woods so when me and my boys build snowmen they won't be covered in leaves and trash.

Also made sure the skid steer was running good so I could sit the snowmans torso and head on w/o killing myself.:D

Fueled her up and headed to work, tomorrow morning should be fun getting off work. Few inches on the beach.

Im in Tn working which sucks no snow wheeling except on the long ride home.... they say 3-4"s here then I have to drive over the mountain otw home thursday. Should be interesting coming through the smokies if they get the snow they are talking about.

Yeah did at a bar by my house when i had that week off around christmas. Pretty dang good! But fireball is dangerous in large quantitys

Bought my first snow shovel, ever.
This reminded me of something.
One snowy February day I was sitting in Pennsylvania bar with some friends when a local guy I had never met before walked in. One of my friends that knew him asked him how he felt about all the snow(much of which had been on the ground for over 2wks at this point). The guy instantly replied, "ya know, I just told my wife we should pack up all our shit, strap a snow shovel to the the hood of the truck and head south. The first place someone points at the shovel and says, WTF is that? That's where we'll live!"
We all got a good laugh out of that. The guy on the other hand was obviously pissed off and I'm pretty sure he was dead serious:lol:

I stopped by the store on the way home from work and got my beer and chicken wings. I need that to better enjoy watching UNC beat duke tomorrow nite:flipoff2: I need to put some gas in the buggy and I'll be ready for the snow:wheel:

Okay, I lied. I went out to the garage tonight to see if I could get a generator put back together and running. Cleaned some crap out of the needle on the carb, welded up a broken piece on the choke... Thinking it might run now. Need to see if I can get some new fuel line send a fuel filter for it tomorrow. Probably also need to drain the gas that's in it and fill with fresh. It doesn't smell bad, but it doesn't smell fresh, either.

Oh, and I'm going to go get the propane tanks and heaters out of the camper.

I fly out tomorrow morning for Boco Raton FL. for a week, high of 80 and low of 60 . Y'all have fun in the cold :flipoff2:

I bet you're gonna get stuck sleeping at the damn airport sucka!

I find myself in bad shape this year. No 4x4 to speak of. In fact, we might even get stuck at home.

Anyone wanna come scoop me up for some snow wheelin, just let me know!

I am in poor shape. I got 4 four wheel drives, none are working right now. F250 almost does, but the front driveshaft is laying on the shop floor. I just don't think I'll lay in the driveway tomorrow and put it back in.

Generator is dead.

Out of propane. I got about 8 empties laying around. Big tank on the 715 is dry, so can't gravity feed the 20 pounders from it either.

If anyone is around the charlotte / huntersville area and needs help let me know i have 2 4wds running my liberty and my k30 cc dually

sent by telegraph from my k30

Don what kind of mower do you have that holds 10 gallons of fuel?

Changed my mind and decided to do a little something...

Did all my laundry because the pipe for the washer likes to freeze up.
Bought beer and a few groceries
Put some gas in the Wrangler to get around, but I can't stand the SWB and doubt I will play in it.
Organized a Dinner for tonight, hot wings and cold beer for all, then going out for some Snow Shenanigans.

Pretty excited.

Did our regular grocery shopping on Sunday and continue to do business as normal. This is supposed to be the most snow we've had in 20 years (or something like that), I stay prepared

I'm preparing for the snow the same way I prepare to go to the bathroom. Bringing reading material, planning on staying indoors for a while and hoping that it's all out by the time I have to go outside.

Toro Z Master

I should also add that our preparedness is pretty much an everyday thing except for the extra ten gallsons of gas. We normally keep the freezer pretty well stocked, always have a surplus of canned stuff, and I just don't leave fuel/gas tanks sit empty... summer or winter. :)
