How are you preparing for the snow?

As anyone seen any snow yet? I am in Marion and nothing yet. Shutting the plant down at 11am. First sign of a snow flake will be a mass exodus anyway.

How well does a lawnmower do as a snowblower?
 
Got some instant coffee, hot chocolate, cup o noodles in case the power is out for days w the ice. Have plenty of propane and firewood........and beer. Also got some lemons and limes for the 1800 Silver.

My peoples in PA have done it before when the snow is "dry"(stupid cold) and not over the deck height. I don't think this is going to be cold enough for it to be effective though. Try it and get back to us:D
 
Left work at 11:30....decent snow coming down, not much on the roads. Go to grocery store, inside for like 15 minutes. Came back outside, roads and parking lot are gone. It's piling up fast here

I am in poor shape. I got 4 four wheel drives, none are working right now. F250 almost does, but the front driveshaft is laying on the shop floor. I just don't think I'll lay in the driveway tomorrow and put it back in.

Generator is dead.

Out of propane. I got about 8 empties laying around. Big tank on the 715 is dry, so can't gravity feed the 20 pounders from it either.

I am a little better -- got my driveshaft in this morning. But I ain't going anywhere...the scanner is full of ID-10-T calls today. Don't be one of them.

Picked up pizzas and movies. Looking forward to watching Rush again! Lots of people leaving their cars on the side of the road. Filled up the gf's Audi and stretched its legs for a bit.
 
Using a lawnmower as a snow blower doesn't work very well at all! However, a ZTR on an icy road is fun!

To prepare for the 10 inches of snow we got...I locked my hubs :driver:

i've never seen anybody quote themselves, just amused me

trying to get the gas logs lit in case of power outage, damn i think i turned them off at the tank.....
 
Locked the hubs on the Yota and bought a $5 ice scraper since the one in the truck seems to have crawled off somewhere. Lit the woodstove in the shop so the plumbing there doesn't freeze.

And just got the phone call that school is canceled tomorrow. Might have one of my Dodges back on the road this week after all...
 
Just had to drive my work vehicle out to a dude so he can get to the water plant tomorrow morning. It's a 2008 Ford Escape. If I were in the market place for a new SUV, I'd be checking those out...pretty impressed with it so far.

Roads are okay now, just snowy. About to get a lot worse here soon.
 
Well its over rated right now. I think I need to hang out with Austin a little more. How did the buggy do last weekend? Saw a few pics but no real mention of it!
 
IF, I get it fixed, of course. Overheating and have a mysterious vacuum leak to tackle.
