You can save the link to your "favorites" or if you are worried about the web page going away you`ll have to do a "print screen"

On FireFox, right click and select "Save page as"

Will save a file with .html extension, and a directory of the same name containing images, etc.

I don't have IE.

Better yet, go to File/Print, and under your printer select Adobe PDF. then save the page as a PDF. that way you'll have the images too after the owner of the page takes it all down.

I saved it to my Documents through the File menu. That should save the pics even after the owner deletes them or whatever, right?

the main thing I'm after is the images without having to save each individual one.

depends on the website and the way it was written. If it saves as html or txt, then no it will not save the images. It saves the address t where the images are. If the owner leaves those files online, you'll be ok, if he pulls the html and the images off his server, then you'll only have the text from the page.

Print it to PDF.

I don't see that as an option?

btw- they were saved as MHTML Documents

no dice. I installed Adobe and it still doesn't show up. Oh well.

Not entirely true... The "Save as webpage - complete" option will save all the images, in the relative "local_files" folder... Save as or Print to PDF is nice to have one file, but if you save the complete html, it'll all be stored on your machine.

psssst - that assumes you have Acrobat Pro installed on your PC.... the free Acrobat Reader only allows viewing, not saving.

However there are some freeware programs that also provide creating PDFs this way too, I wonder how Adobe feels about that.

pssst, you know what, you're most probably correctly, I've never worked on a machine that didn't have Acrobat Pro.

:silly me:

Jay T's way would be best

if you'd like to go the route of just making a PDF of the web page, here's a free utility that will add it to your Print options:

I appreciate EVERYONES input, but Dave's link worked for me. After I downloaded cutepdf, it opened up in Firefox. Will I have to use Firefox if I ever want to save something again?
(Or can I use cutepdf in IE, also?)

The magic key here is that you can now "print" ANYTHING into a PDF - any program or application that allows printing. Windows essentially just thinks of CutrPDF like a printer.

So the answer is, no, you can do it with IE or any program you want ;-)

RatLabs link is what i use. THe Microfosft version WHPDHTABC what ever is just their version. With the CutePDF you can save ANYTHING as PDF by just printing it. I have tons of stuff saved that way.

since you decided to raise the bar...how is a PDF portable?
