How does this come off?

Apparently I am stupid because I can't seem to figure out how to get this hook disconnected from the rope. There has got to be a way to take it off without cutting and splicing the rope. Any ideas?

Yep, I got a few of them. The pin is generally called a roll pin, & it's made of spring steel. It expands inside the 2 halves to keep it in place.But you can tap it in & out easily with something like a punch & hammer.
Make note or take picture, of where all the bushings & things go, even though it's not hard to figure out.

That green sheath on the rope is a Chinese finger trap. If you push on it just right, the rope will come free!
