How many hours of sleep do you average a night over a full 7 day week?

I know some people will get low amount of hours during the work week, then make up for it by sleeping late both days on the weekend, so do the math to figure your average hours of sleep over seven nights. If you take naps, figure that in to your weekly hours too.

I figure I go to bed at 11 or 11:30 most nights and wake up between 6 and 6:30 most mornings. Occasionally I don't wake up until 7 and some nights I go to bed at 10 or 10:30. I don't really subtract out when I'm up with kids in the night, unless it's repeatedly for an hour or more which does happen some nights... but I figure I average 7. Not bad but new science says more is better for long-term health.

bed at 10 up at 4:30am. no alarm, every day. If i am drinking, it's less..

I sleep 3-5 hours a night during the week normally, I just can't get myself to fall asleep sometimes, Ill go for a late walk with the dog and just sit down and cant turn my mind off.

During the weekend, with the assistance of alcohol, I sleep 7-10 hours a night, or... if I drink any kind of jager bomb type drinks, I will sleep 2-3 hours and wake up.

In 10-11 to bed. Up 5:30-6:30. If I'm lucky I will get to sleep in till 7 on weekends, but that is usually offset by staying up later. So I'm somewhere around 7 or 8 on average.

I'm usually in bed by 1130 but read til 12. Then I lay there another hour. Wake up around 2-3, get up, walk around and check the house, lay back down doze off til 4-5 get up again then doze off til 7.

I'm between 6.5 and 7 really. Sleeping 11:15-6:45 is my usual.

I chose seven, but had to stretch it out to a month to get a decent average. This week might be 8 or 9 hours a night and next week might be 5 depending on what the dumbass citizens of Northeast Raleigh and the Archer Lodge area decide to do between 11pm and 7am, which is when I typically try to sleep.

I get about 7 hrs, maybe 7.5 average on some weeks if my boy sleeps in toward the later end of his range on the weekends. He usually wakes me up between 5:30 and 6:30am on Saturday and Sunday morning. I'm usually rolling around half awake by the time he comes in anyway.

I'm surprised how many people survive on a low amount of sleep. I've read that getting less than 7 hours or much more than 7 hours is associated with a higher mortality rate. 7-8 hours is the recommended amount for an adult.

I've also read that the amount of sleep a person requires is determined by their genetics.

That has got to absolutely suck! I have a coworker who is similar. He wakes up around 2-3 am every night. In the summer, he will go outside and turn on his sprinkler and sit up for a 45min-hour then turn it off and get back in bed.

The hard part for me is knowing how much I slept. I know when I go to bed and I know when I get up. I don't go to sleep very fast from all the bs running in my head.

I have the same problem. My wife can fall asleep within minutes of laying down. I will typically roll around for at least 30 minutes.

If anyone's like I am, I've had my morning alarm set at a certain time for so many years I can pretty much cut my alarm off and still wake up within a minute or two from when it would go off. It's like its programmed into my body clock.

For years I had sleep apnea. when I lost weight it went with the weight, my body became accustom to minimal sleep. I feel like that's why any way..

I fall asleep most nights around 9:30pm +/-30 minutes. Alarm goes off at 4:30am. = 7 hrs of sleep. I feel good with that never really feeling tired during the day, and have plenty of energy for the gym etc.

I usually am in bed around midnight, sometimes later. During the week the alarm is set at 430. On the weekends, I may can sometimes sleep in till 630 but that's rare but I usually go to bed later too.

I likely average about 5 hours of sleep each night. If I sleep more, I feel like crap and ache and am grumpy.

I'm a night owl but also like to get up and get the day started. Too much to do, not enough time.

I get up at like 4 am to piss every morning, does that count?

I set my alarm anytime I have to be up at a certain time (6a for one job, 7a for the other for example). Regardless of the time set for, 95% of the time I wake up about 5 to 10 min prior to the alarm going off.

Sleep around midnight and up at 6 most weekdays the past 6 months. Weekends range a ton in when I go to sleep but normally up by 830 then. I used to get 9 hours but not anymore and have been able to operate on little sleep easily again
